Gossip Girl has solved its Aunt Carol problem.

The CW soap has recruited Lost‘s Sheila Kelley to guest star as Lily’s sister Carol after Illeana Douglas was forced to drop out at the 11th hour for scheduling reasons.

The character, who is slated to show up in the spring, was originally played by Krysten Ritter in GG‘s season 2 flashback episode/backdoor spinoff pilot.

  • Ew, did you seriously just call her a Lost “star?” Us Losties have been trying our hardest to forget that Zoe ever existed.

  • Ah, remember that time she taught Lisa Edelstein how to poledance for House? Awesome.

Anyway, she’s Richard Schiff’s wife so I love her by proxy.

  • I hated her on Lost! I couldn’t wait until her inevitable death! Plus, unless she is a very good actress, she gives off way different vibes than I would expect her GG character to be like. Oh wait, she isn’t a great actress. So….no.

  • HA! This is the second time she’s been brought into a show to replace an actress playing a “sister”. She replaced Jo Anderson way back when on NBC’s “Sisters” as the half sister Charlie. :D

  • Illeana Douglas looks a lot more like Krysten Ritter (or I guess since Krysten is younger, she looks more like Illeana…). I don’t really care who plays her, I’m just looking forward to seeing what she’ll be up to on the UES.

  • It is really ballsy to call her a “LOST” actress. Just a stretch. Gossip Girl can have her.

  • She can’t act so i guess she will fit in perfectly on GG, especially if she has scenes with Chase Crawford for example.

  • What star? She was in a grand total of five episodes of the series. That’s like saying Beth Broderick was the star, since she was also in five episodes. Same with Neil Hopkins, Fisher Stevens, Brad Henke, and Sterling Beaumon. Are they “stars of the series” too?
