Nip/Tuck's Dylan Walsh Cops Role on CBS Pilot

Get More: Casting News, News, Pilots

Nip/Tuck alum Dylan Walsh is trading in his scalpel for a sidearm, playing the male lead — opposite Without a Trace‘s Poppy Montgomery — in a CBS cop drama pilot, says Deadline.

The as-yet-untitled project stars Montgomery as a former police detective with the Marilu Henner-like ability to remember everything, and who now volunteers at a nursing home.

Walsh plays a NYPD chief of detectives who back in the day — and in no less than Solvay Syracuse (Go, Orange!) — was partnered with Montgomery’s character, until her “ability” caused their (ahem) personal relationship to go south.

When the duo’s paths cross because of a murder, Walsh’s lawman winds up recruiting Montgomery as a police “consultant.” Voila! CBS procedural meets Will They/Won’t They UST!

This CBS pilot is being developed by Ed Redlich (Without a Trace) and John Bellucci, and will be directed by Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).

  • Sounds interesting. CBS and NBC both have good crime shows on the air, but before I make a definate decision either way, I’ll wait for some more info. ;)

  • Sounds like Medium….without the lost souls. Love the actors, but can we find an original plotline?

  • How does it sound like Medium? Poppy Montgomery doesn’t talk to the dead. She remembers everything. Dylan Walsh is a nice piece of eye candy. I think this has the potential to be really good.
