This is the news NCIS fans have been waiting for: After lengthy negotiations, Cote de Pablo (Ziva) has closed a new two-year deal to continue on the veteran CBS drama.

The actress was the last NCIS regular without a deal, meaning that the entire cast of the show is now locked in for next fall.

  - “Core” means center. The shows central characters are Gibbs, Tony, McGee and Ziva. Some could even argue that Abby & Ducky are also core characters. Now – ORIGINAL is a completely different thing. Ziva is not an ORIGINAL character, but rather a REPLACEMENT that became CORE. Get over the Ziva hate.

PD: of course, I’ll be happy if Ray stays, but I’m sure he’s going to die, hero or killer, but die anyway. But anyway, Ziva is a surviver. And well, Tiva is the final game this show has being playing, we all know it, like it or not. (And I do like!!).

Well… Ziva survives… ok, fine. It was probably too much to ask that they write her out, anyway. Hopefully, Gary Glasburg and company have, however, been paying attention to the recent soap opera cancellations and taken note, and we can finally kill of the drag that is TIVA and get back to the more INTERESTING relationships on the show.

2 years seems like too long. I didn’t want her gone at the end of this season, but I’m betting they’ll be killing off a character next season to spice things up. I was hoping it’d be Ziva, but I guess not. As long as they leave Gibbs, Abby and Tony alone I’ll be good.

10 bucks says it’ll be McGee they get rid of next season. 20 bucks it’ll be Vance.

  - As a Tony lover, I’d almost agree with you. He’s been dumbed down so much over the past few seasons – mainly to make others look good – that as a fan of him since the first ep, it’s been almost painful to watch.

So who dies? The spoiler was someone on Team Gibbs for die. It was made clear no one from E.J. group is part of Team Gibbs in Dead Reflection, Gibbs can not stand her or her group. We know two people will die and one from the Team. Would Mike Franks be considered a Team Gibbs member?

- I think maybe you read the spoilers wrong? I remember reading at least 2 core or recurring characters would die. Recurring can mean anyone who has been in 2 episodes or more. I’m thinking Franks and the tall guy who went on a date with Abby. There’s always Vance too.

- Having a contract is no protection from an actor’s character being written out. All of them, except probably Mark Harmon due to his advancement to Executive Producer next season, are still fair game to be killed off.

  - Well, you are half-right and half-wrong. Cote’s contract, for example, books her for two years. I’m sure that no actor is going to put effort into a contract that excludes them from air time/acting. If the contract just says ‘to be payed for two years X sum’, then I suppose you could be right, but who would sign, or much less offer, a contract with no work in return?
    That of course leads to the other option, which is being written out anyway. But being written out means being unemployed under the state of your contract, which could lead to a lawsuit for “Breach of Contract”, and nobody wants that.
    I’m pretty sure these contracts are iron-clad. That’s why they take so long to iron out.

I woke up half an hour ago to the best news of the month. Now I can breathe a sigh of relief! I love NCIS and the characters in it. The ENTIRE team. And I don’t want any of them to go.

I am sad to see the hate these days on BOTH/ALL sides of the fence. A few years ago it pretty much started with the Tony fans vs McGee fans, now this side of the hate (Ziva fans vs. Ziva haters) has been added to the mix.

I remember the old times in the early days, when NCIS was almost entirely flying under the radar (a feeling of NCIS against the rest of the world) and was just this remarkable little show with the great team that simply wouldn’t go away – despite the fact it never got any coverage. Fans were strong, united and stood behind their show as ONE.

Nowadays I almost never go to message boards and forum anymore. It seems that everywhere you go, there is hate and bickering of groups against each other and that it is not even about the show anymore.

My plea to ALL the NCIS fans is: No matter which side you are on… HATE is NEVER the RIGHT SIDE. Drop your aggression against each other, remember that the “other side” is just as human as you are and that, no matter which side you are on now, you ALL became a member of the NCIS community, because you fell in love with the show at one point

I have two wishes for the season finale and the new season:
1) that none of the main team dies (Gibbs, Tony, Ziva, Tim, Ducky, Abby, Palmer) and Vance in addition to the team.
2) that ALL fans of the show take the 4 months of summer break to reflect on their behavior towards other fans, let go of the hate and come back in fall with a fresh approach, an open mind, tolerance towards one another and their respective opinions, a calm, polite and constructive manner while stating your own preference… and the rediscovered pure and simple joy and love for the “little” show called NCIS.

Maybe now they’ve upped her money she’ll employ a voice coach and sort out that awful accent she’s been using. And if the cash bonus is to stop her doing her own stunts that would also be to the good. The fight scenes might actually get some life back into them if they were done by professionals.

Heck yes. Perfect comment here. I only talk to fans on the forum I moderate on (which disallows character AND ship bashing) and on Twitter. I get tired of all the negativity. Aren’t we all watching the same show? I love all the characters and am glad everyone’s staying, especially Cote/Ziva, because she is my favorite. We all have our opinions – why can’t we share them in a respectful way with each other?

This news makes me sad. Why can’t they get rid of her and let Tony get back to being the interesting, sexy, funny character he used to be. All this Tiva crap and the will they/won’t they has ruined this show.
