30 Rock Scoop: James Marsden Nabs Major Arc!

This news should have fans lizzing: James Marsden is coming to 30 Rock!

TVLine has learned that the Straw Dogs/X-Men star will appear in at least six episodes of the NBC comedy’s sixth cycle, which premieres at midseason.

Additional details surrounding the guest spot are being kept tightly under wraps, but Marsden does seem to fit the bill of a recent casting notice put out by 30 Rock that calls for a new suitor for Tina Fey’s perpetually single Liz Lemon.

EW.com first reported the casting scoop.

Marsden — a regular fixture on the big screen — guest-starred last season on ABC’s Modern Family as Cam and Mitchell’s hunky backyard squatter.

  • Great casting! Marsden was great on Modern Family. He’s surprisingly funny. Usually the hot, charasmatic ones aren’t all that talented, but he’s definitely got the chops. I would love to see him as Lemon’s love interest. He’d definitely fluster her and I’d love to see that!
