24 Vet Carlos Bernard Wrangles Dallas Role

Tony Almeida is taking refuge in Texas.

24 fan fave Carlos Bernard has nabbed a recurring gig on TNT’s upcoming Dallas reboot, TVLine has confirmed.

Making his debut early in the season, Bernard will play a charming businessman from Venezuela who comes to town to sort out a deal with Larry Hagman’s J.R. Ewing.

Vulture first reported the casting news.

Bernard is currently in the midst of a season-long arc on CSI: Miami.

  • So glad whenever Carlos shows up on TV. Dallas is now on my “give it a try” list.

  • Follow me here….
If he is from Venezuala…could he be related to Le Ann De La Vega
played by Barbara Eden in the original? He could not be her son
because she couldn’t have children because of JR, but she could be a nephew or such.

    • Very good thought Liza, but I have a feeling they won’t make those types of connections unless it’s really just a “wink” to original viewers of the show. I’m sure they want this Dallas to stand on its own (even if some original cast are involved)

  • Seems unlikely JR would be doing bidness with Venezuela considering the political situation down there. Maybe they’ll have Hugo C. offed (fictionally) to make it more plausible.
