Louis C.K. Returns To Netflix With First Stand-Up Special Since Sexual Misconduct Scandal
Louis C.K. is making a comeback on Netflix.
The embattled comedian will return to the streamer for a new stand-up special, entitled "Ridiculous," that will premiere globally this summer. C.K. will direct and executive-produce the special himself, with Lea Cohen Zuckerman and Brady Nasfell also serving as EPs. Plus, C.K. will perform at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Tuesday, May 5 as part of the annual Netflix Is a Joke Fest comedy festival.
This marks C.K.'s first stand-up special on Netflix since "Louis C.K.: 2017," which debuted on the streamer in 2017. It also marks the biggest step back into the mainstream for C.K. since he admitted to sexual misconduct in 2017, with five women accusing him of exposing himself and masturbating in front of them. After that, Netflix and FX (the home of his Emmy-winning comedy "Louie") cut ties with C.K., and his on-screen appearances have been scarce.
C.K. has continued his stand-up career since the scandal, though, touring across the country and posting stand-up specials for purchase on his personal website. (His website is also the only place where fans can purchase "Louie.") He began his "Ridiculous" comedy tour in April of last year.
