The Voice: Top 20 Contenders Headed To The Season 4 Knockout Rounds

The Voice - Season 4

20. Audrey Karrasch (Team Usher)

Former model is currently known more for her saucy interaction with the coaches than her actual vocals, but if Usher can keep her big personality from veering too polarizing, she could be one to watch.

The Voice - Season 4

19. Cathia (Team Usher)

Displayed big, impressive pipes on Shakira's "Antes De La Seis" but lost out to shark-eyed Mary Miranda in the Battles. Maybe Usher saved her based on her impressive "No Me Doy por Vencido" from the Blinds? Certainly hasn't suffered from an airtime defecit.

The Voice - Season 4

18. Shawna P (Team Shakira)

Oldest artist in the competition used to hang with Big & Rich and Gretchen Wilson, which makes her that much hungrier for a big break. Her Blind Audition cover of "She Talks to Angels" was very soulful, although The Voice has been increasingly less friendly to "artists of a certain age" since Season 1.

The Voice - Season 4

17. Amy Whitcomb (Team Adam)

Her Blind Audition and Battle Round performances both got the dreaded "snippet" treatment — but fans who remember her as a member of The Sing-Off's a capella act Delilah are champing at the bit and hoping she won't be reduced to Knockout Rounds cannon fodder.

The Voice - Season 4

16. Luke Edgemon (Team Blake)

Got dropped by Shakira and landed on Team Blake after a strongly sung rendition of "You and I," but both of his outings thus far have displayed a tendency to muddy up his performances with too many runs and ad libs. Might also face an uphill battle with his new coach — unless he's willing to go full-on country.

The Voice - Season 4

15. Sasha Allen (Team Shakira)

There's no doubting her horsepower following a massive vocal on "Not Ready to Make Nice" and a throwdown against Amber Carrington on Pink's "Try." Hopefully her new coach Shakira (who stole her from Adam) can help Sasha conquer the somewhat studied, cold quality that's probably prevented the experienced background singer from achieving singing stardom thus far.

The Voice - Season 4

14. Danielle Bradbery (Team Blake)

Country cutie has a fresh-scrubbed charm and an impressive grasp of pitch for her tender age. Still, needs to upgrade solid but not particularly distinctive covers of "Mean" and "Put Your Records On" into territory that paints her as a ready and relevant recording artist in 2013.

The Voice - Season 4

13. Caroline Glaser (Team Adam)

I thought the silky voiced coffeehouse crooner was a clear winner over Danielle in their Battle Round "Put Your Records On," and thankfully Adam stole her from Blake. Soft, breezy voices like Caroline's can sometimes get lost behind The Voice band, but Caroline's audition to "Tiny Dancer" proved she can belt a bit, too.

The Voice - Season 4

12. Garrett Gardner (Team Shakira)

Croaky voiced reject from Season 3 may still be rough around the edges, but his reggae-tinged "Seven Nation Army" showed creativity, and his Battle Rounds cover of "How Ya Like Me Now?" revealed a newfound confidence and swagger.

The Voice - Season 4

11. Vedo (Team Usher)

Would be nice to see a little more distinctiveness in his arrangements and delivery, but he proved equal to the lovely Jessica Childress during a Battle Round cover of "Knocked Out of Heaven." How much and how quickly he learns from Usher will make the difference.

The Voice - Season 4

10. Monique Abbadie (Team Shakira)

Former child star took on Shakira's "Loca" in the Blinds — and proved she's got charisma and vocal dexterity to match her horsepower — then picked off Luke Edgemon in a close Battle matchup. Could she be the show's first legit pop contender?

The Voice - Season 4

9. Midas Whale (Team Adam)

The first duo in show history that looks like a legit threat. Their "Folsom Prison Blues" was fast and furiously fun, though will some fans hold it against them that they eliminated talented Beale Street belter Patrick Dodd in the Battles?

The Voice - Season 4

8. Sarah Simmons (Team Adam)

Her Blind Audition to "One of Us" pegged her as a multifaceted voice that can shift from lilting falsetto to rumbling growl — with total effortlessness. Battle Round cover of a Lady Antebellum tune was slightly less compelling, but she's one to watch on a deep Team Adam bench.

The Voice - Season 4

7. Holly Tucker (Team Blake)

College marching-band member comes off as country as a hayride through a cow pasture, and her one-two punch of "Make You Feel My Love" and "Blown Away" signaled she's got pipes that'll raise Nashville's eyebrows, too.

The Voice - Season 4

6. Ryan Innes (Team Usher)

His power growl gives one of the most instantly recognizable voices in the competition. And while the arrangement of his Battle Rounds "Ain't No Sunshine" was overbaked, there's no denying he's got major chops and likeability, too.

The Voice - Season 4

5. Amber Carrington (Team Adam)

Scaled Mt. Underwood in her audition, then TKO'd powerhouse Sasha Allen in the Battles. If Adam is serious about wanting to beat Blake with a country artist, then Amber could make that dream a reality.

The Voice - Season 4

4. Grace Askew (Team Blake)

Got snippet-ized in the Battle Rounds, but her twangy "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" was a major Blind Auditions moment. Plus, she plays in to Blake's "All Country All the Time" Season 4 strategy.

The Voice - Season 4

3. Karina Iglesias (Team Shakira)

Matched Judith Hill note-for-note in the Battles — and got stolen by Shakira in the process. If she can maintain that high vocal standard, she may catapult from underdog to true contender.

The Voice - Season 4

2. Michelle Chamuel (Team Usher)

Quirky, bespectacled chick brought rock-star swagger to "I Kissed a Girl." We only saw a snippet of her Battle Round, but it looked very strong.

The Voice - Season 4

1. Judith Hill (Team Adam)

Michael Jackson's former duet partner has been the front-runner since her awesome "What a Girl Wants" in the Blind Auditions. Still, could viewers perceive her as too much of a pro to be relatable?
