Grosse Pointe Garden Society Shuffled To Fridays At NBC — When Does It Move?

Grosse Pointe Garden Society is getting re-planted elsewhere on NBC's schedule.

The freshman drama, which has thus far aired four episodes on Sundays at 10/9c, will relocate to Fridays at 8 pm beginning April 4, TVLine has learned. Its final two Sunday outings will air March 23 and March 30.

The Reba McEntire comedy Happy's Place, which currently occupies the Fridays-at-8 slot on NBC's schedule, will have already wrapped its freshman run when Grosse Pointe moves. Meanwhile, Dateline NBC will take over Grosse Pointe's previous Sunday perch.

Season-to-date, Grosse Pointe Garden Society is averaging just 1.85 million weekly viewers (with Live+7 playback), demonstrating just 72% retention out of Suits LA and ranking last in total audience out of the 11 dramas that NBC has aired this TV season.

But as NBC notes, the series' pilot episode — which debuted to 1.8 mil and a 0.17 demo rating (in Live+Same Day numbers) — has to date, across all platforms (including Peacock streaming), tallied 6.6 million viewers (up more than 3x) and a 1.21 rating (up 7x).

Grosse Pointe Garden Society — created by Good Girls' Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs — follows four members of a suburban garden club who find their lives intertwined by scandal, mischief and a shared secret: a murder no one wants to talk about. As dark truths begin to rot their lives under the surface, they struggle to remain as perfect as the flowers blooming in their garden above.

In addition to series leads Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Aja Naomi King (How to Get Away With Murder), Ben Rappaport (The Good Wife) and AnnaSophia Robb (The Carrie Diaries), the show's cast includes Matthew Davis (The Vampire Diaries), Alexander Hodge (Insecure), Nancy Travis (Last Man Standing) and Felix Wolfe (Raven's Home).

Per the official episode synopsis, Grosse Pointe's time slot premiere on April 4 will find Alice (Robb) facing unexpected challenges at work, while Brett (Rappaport) feels pressure launching his car restoration business and Birdie (Fumero) grows more involved in a tempting affair.
