Chrisley Knows Best Stars Todd And Julie Chrisley Pardoned By President Trump After Federal Fraud Convictions
The stars of Chrisley Knows Best will soon be free again: Todd and Julie Chrisley, who are both in prison on federal bank fraud and tax evasion convictions, have officially been pardoned by President Donald Trump.
Trump's team posted a video on social media on Tuesday of Trump calling the Chrisleys' daughter Savannah — who spoke at the Republican National Convention last year and has been lobbying Trump for a pardon — and telling her: "Your parents are going to be free and clean, and I hope we can do it by tomorrow."
Todd and Julie Chrisley, the husband-and-wife stars of the USA reality show Chrisley Knows Best, were convicted in June 2022 of conspiring to defraud community banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans. They were also found guilty of conspiring to defraud the IRS and tax evasion; Julie was convicted on separate charges of wire fraud and obstruction of justice as well.
They were sentenced in November 2022, with Todd receiving 12 years in prison, along with 16 months of probation, while Julie was sentenced to 7 years in prison, plus 16 months of probation. The couple has maintained their innocence and filed appeals seeking a new trial.
Chrisley Knows Best debuted on USA in 2014 and ran for 10 seasons, following the antics of Todd and Julie and their children. A spinoff focusing on Savannah and her brother Chase, Growing Up Chrisley, debuted in 2019. Both shows were cancelled in 2022, though, in light of Todd and Julie's convictions.
