SNL Video: Scarlett Johansson Drops By To Skewer Katie Britt's State Of The Union Response — Watch

Saturday Night Live has offered a response to Katie Britt's State of the Union response — with a big star in the leading role.

Scarlett Johansson made a surprise appearance on this week's SNL as the junior senator from Alabama, whose response to President Joe Biden's State of the Union speech this week went viral for all the wrong reasons. After a few quick jokes at Biden's expense, the cold open got straight to the good stuff, with Johannson playing Britt as a demented housewife who loves to perform: "I'll be auditioning for the part of 'Scary Mom,' and I'll be performing an original monologue called, 'This Country is Hell,'" she declared, also labeling herself "the craziest bitch in the Target parking lot."

She explained she filmed her response in her kitchen to appeal to women voters, and "women love kitchen." She also addressed criticism that she was being too performative in her response, placing a dramatic hand to her forehead while crying out: "I'm not!"

Giggly one moment and teary-eyed the next, Johansson's Britt interrupted her tirade against Biden's border policy to switch into QVC mode and offer her diamond cross necklace for sale. ("You can wear it from da church to da club!") She also turned "weirdly seductive for no apparent reason" at one point, moaning while she talked before asking voters to consider whether they were better off four years ago, in "2020, the year that nothing bad happened."

Britt even showed off her singing pipes — this was an audition after all, right? — and then reinforced the "Scary Mom" label by stirring a spoon against a tea cup, Get Out-style. (Poor Kenan.)
