Emmys 2026 Poll: Who Should Win For Lead Actress In A Limited Series Or Movie?

The race for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie at this year's Emmys has it all: industry veterans, fresh faces, former winners, first-time nominees... but which one most deserves to take home the hardware?

Among the five nominees in this category, two names stand out as particular favorites of Emmy voters in recent years, starting with Claire Danes, who has three Emmys in her trophy case already, including a pair for playing Carrie Mathison on Showtime's "Homeland." She's nominated this year for playing book author Agatha Wiggs in the Netflix thriller "The Beast in Me," and don't forget: She's won this category before, in 2010, for playing the title role in the HBO movie "Temple Grandin." 

Danes' competitor Sarah Snook has grasped Emmy gold before, as well, winning for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama in 2024 for playing Shiv Roy on HBO's "Succession," and she's nominated here for playing mother Marissa Irvine in the Peacock missing-child drama "All Her Fault."

Also in the running this year are a pair of first-time Emmy nominees: Carey Mulligan, earning her first career nod for playing disgruntled wife Lindsay in Season 2 of the Netflix anthology "BEEF"; and Sarah Pidgeon, honored for her breakout role as '90s fashion icon Carolyn Bessette in the FX series "Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette."

Last but certainly not least is a Hollywood legend: Sally Field, who nabbed a rare nomination for a TV movie for her role as elderly aquarium staffer Tova in the Netflix film "Remarkably Bright Creatures." That makes it an even 10 Emmy nominations for Field in her storied career, with her three wins coming for ABC's "Brothers and Sisters," a guest role on "ER," and the 1976 NBC movie "Sybil."
