American Horror Story 13 Trailer Portends 'Instability, Chaos,' And A Whole Lot Of Carnage — Watch

Elsa Mars is welcoming you back to the "greatest show on Earth!" 

Ryan Murphy's "American Horror Story" is premiering its 13th season on Thursday, September 24 (at 9/8c on FX), and in its new trailer released Thursday, its all-star cast of returnees is rightly placed front and center. (Jessica Lange! Sarah Paulson! Frances Conroy!) 

In the video embedded above, "Freak Show" boss lady Elsa is the first to get us hyped, but it doesn't take long for Evan Peters' James Patrick March ("Hotel") and the "Coven" witches to crash the party.  

"Everybody thinks it's a 'Coven' season, and it's not — it's all the seasons," Murphy revealed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. "It is like 'The Avengers.' They all come together to defeat the ultimate evil. So it's very fun. And as soon as I pitched it to [the actors], many of them had said no over the years, and they were like, 'Well, OK, we've got to come back for that.'"

Also in the clip, Paulson's Cordelia Goode feels "the harbinger of our doom" approaching, while John Waters (yes, that John Waters) warns Kai and Winter that the number 13 "stands for instability, chaos." Plus: Twisty the Clown is back for more bloody butcherings! As for how "AHS13" will tie everything together, your guess is as good as ours.
