Ted Danson's A Man On The Inside To End With Season 3 At Netflix — Nick Offerman, Bernadette Peters, Stephen Root Among New Cast
"A Man on the Inside" is about to work his final case.
Netflix announced Wednesday that the Ted Danson comedy will end with Season 3, which has officially begun production in San Francisco.
"This series began with a retiree taking a chance at a new life. By answering a help wanted ad and venturing out into the world, Charles Nieuwendyk made his world bigger and proved that life only slows down if you let it," series creator and executive producer Michael Schur said in a statement. "We are thrilled to be able to conclude his journey with one final chapter, as embodied by the great Ted Danson, who I am legally required to refer to as a 'National Treasure.'"
Who Is Joining the Cast of A Man on the Inside Season 3?
"A Man on the Inside" Season 3 (release date TBD) will welcome eight new guest stars, led by Bernadette Peters ("Mozart In the Jungle"), Nick Offerman ("Parks and Recreation") and newly minted Emmy winner Stephen Root ("Widow's Bay").
Peters will play Coco Van Beck, the Grand Dame of San Francisco society who hires Charles (Danson) to find whoever is trying to sabotage her philanthropic work. Offerman will play Jack Spencer, one of Coco's employees who takes a special interest in Charles' investigation, while Root will play Dave, Charles' estranged brother, who has some old scores to settle.
The new case will also introduce Annette O'Toole ("Virgin River") as Kitt, a fixture in San Francisco high society and one of Coco's oldest friends; Christopher McDonald ("Hacks") as Leland, a playboy vineyard owner and Coco's third ex-husband; Diedrich Bader ("Better Things") as Mark Delaurio, a powerful real estate developer who has clashed with Coco many times in the past; and Rachel Dratch ("Saturday Night Live") as Maud, Coco's harried assistant who sleeps three hours a night and has three phones going at all times.
Rounding out the new additions is Jessica St. Clair ("Playing House") as Chloe, a friend of Emily's (Mary Elizabeth Ellis) who helps her navigate a new phase in parenthood.
Returnees include Lilah Richcreek Estrada (Julie), Stephanie Beatriz (Didi), Eugene Cordero (Joel), Stephen McKinley Henderson (Calbert), Sally Struthers (Virginia), and Mary Steenburgen (Mona).
