Fox has announced that "Baywatch" will premiere Wednesday, January 6, 2027, at 9/8c. The network has also released a new trailer, which you can watch above.

The sequel series casts Stephen Amell ("Arrow") as "wild-child" Hobie Buchannon, the son of David Hasselhoff's Mitch Buchannon, who has followed in his father's footsteps to become a Baywatch captain. His "world is turned upside down when his daughter, Charlie Vale (Jessica Belkin, "Elle"), shows up on his doorstep eager to carry on the Buchannon family legacy," according to the official logline.

Rounding out the ensemble are series regulars Hassie Harrison ("Yellowstone") as Nat, Shay Mitchell ("Pretty Little Liars") as Trina, newcomer Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad, Noah Beck ("Sidelined") as Luke, and Brooks Nader ("Love Thy Nader") as Selene; and recurring guest star Livvy Dunne (making her acting debut as Grace).

Matt Nix ("Burn Notice") serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto, and Mike Horowitz. McG also directed the premiere.

Which Baywatch Alumni Are Returning for Fox Reboot?

Original series cast members set to reprise their roles on the new "Baywatch" include David Chokachi (as Cody Madison). Erika Eleniak (as Shauni McClain), Michael Bergin (as J.D. Darius), and Kelly Packard (as April Giminski).

Mary McDonnell ("Battlestar Galactica") will also appear as Hobie's mother, Gayle Buchannon, a role previously played by Wendie Malick.

The original "Baywatch" premiered on NBC in September 1989 but was canceled after a single season. Revived the following fall in first-run syndication, it became a worldwide phenomenon, ultimately running for 11 seasons through 2001. The series also spawned the short-lived spin-off "Baywatch Nights" and a 2017 feature film adaptation starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.
