Georgie Cooper is about to come face-to-face with an old flame.
"Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage" is bringing back Ava Allan as Jana Boggs, Georgie's former girlfriend from "Young Sheldon." Emily Osment, who plays Georgie's wife Mandy, shared a behind-the-scenes photo revealing Allan's return — and, perhaps more intriguingly, showing Mandy and Jana seated together.
"Well THIS can't be good," Osment teased in her Instagram caption.
For now, it's unclear what brings Jana back into Georgie's orbit, or when Allan's episode will air. (TVLine has reached out to CBS and Warner Bros. Television for additional intel on Allan's spin-off debut.)
Who Was Jana on Young Sheldon?
Allan appeared in nine episodes of "Young Sheldon" across Seasons 3-5, during which Jana was Georgie's most significant girlfriend before he met Mandy.
Their relationship included a pregnancy scare in Season 3, Episode 16, "Pasadena," which ultimately proved to be a false alarm. It was an ironic precursor to Georgie's eventual fatherhood, though not one the writers had planned.
"We definitely didn't think about Georgie becoming a dad at the time," executive producer Steve Holland reveals in the Jessica Radloff-penned oral history "Young Sheldon: The (Juicier-Than-Meemaw's-Brisket) Inside Story of the Hit Comedy." "So, lucky foreshadowing, but not foreshadowing."
Jana and Georgie's relationship eventually came to an end after he announced his decision to drop out of high school in Season 5, Episode 3. Soon after, he met Mandy, whose unexpected pregnancy led to the birth of their daughter, CeeCee, and their eventual (first) marriage.
"Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on CBS, and streams next day on Paramount+. (Seasons 1 and 2 are available to binge on HBO Max.)
