Casting News: 9-1-1: Nashville Books Kane Brown, Patrick Dempsey's Fox Drama Adds 2 And More
ABC's 9-1-1 spinoff has booked a major country act for its Music City debut.
Kane Brown is set to guest-star in the series premiere of 9-1-1: Nashville, airing Thursday, Oct. 9 at 9/8c. According to Variety, which was first to break the news, Brown appears as himself and "proves heroic in a major storyline."
Set in the same universe as 9-1-1, the highly anticipated offshoot explores a Tennessee firehouse run by Captain Don Sharpe (Chris O'Donnell). The series also stars Jessica Capshaw, Kimberly Williams-Paisley and LeAnn Rimes, along with Hailey Kilgore, Michael Provost, Juani Feliz and Hunter McVey.
In other casting news...
* Fox's midseason drama Memory of a Killer, starring Patrick Dempsey, Michael Imperioli, Richard Harmon and Odeya Rush, has added Daniel David Stewart (Reacher) and Peter Gadiot (Yellowjackets), Deadline reports. Adapted from the 2003 Belgian thriller De Zaak Alzheimer (La Memoire Du Tueur), the hour-long series casts Dempsey as a hitman with early-onset Alzheimer's. Stewart plays his son-in-law, while Gadiot will assume the part of a local police detective.
* Prime Video's Boys prequel, Vought Rising, has cast Mason Dye (Stranger Things) and KiKi Layne (The Old Guard 2), according to Deadline.
* USA Network's forthcoming original series Anna Pigeon has added Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz (Reacher), Ryan Northcott (Wynonna Earp) and Cooper Levy (Overcompensating), per Variety. They join previously announced series leads Tracy Spiridakos (Chicago P.D.) and Ronnie Rowe Jr. (Star Trek: Discovery).
* HBO Max's Lanterns has cast Cary Christopher (Days of Our Lives' Thomas DiMera) in the recurring role of Young Noah, Deadline reports.
