Alicia Silverstone To Star In Acorn TV Murder Mystery Irish Blood

Alicia Silverstone is looking for clues overseas: The Clueless star will headline Irish Blood, a six-part, Ireland-set murder mystery on Acorn TV, TVLine has learned.

Silverstone will play Fiona Fox, an L.A. divorce lawyer "who receives a letter from her estranged father and sets out to uncover the mystery of his disappearance," per the official description. She heads to Ireland, where "she learns key truths about her father as well as a family that doesn't know she exists."

Joining Silverstone in the cast are Jason O'Mara (The Man in the High Castle), Wendy Crewson (Tracker), Dearbhla Molloy (Scandal), Simone Kirby (His Dark Materials), Ruth Codd (The Fall of the House of Usher) and Leonardo Taiwo (Andor).

"Irish Blood is the story of a woman discovering herself and confronting her past after traveling abroad unexpectedly," Silverstone said in a statement. "I love how unpredictable the storytelling feels and the combination of drama, humor and suspense my character experiences."

Silverstone is still best known for her iconic role as privileged teen Cher in the '90s classic Clueless. Since then, she's appeared on the small screen in The Baby-Sitters Club, American Woman and Suburgatory.
