All American Mass Exodus: 5 Cast Members Out Ahead Of Season 7

An All American overhaul is officially underway.

Ahead of the CW drama's seventh season, TVLine has learned that only three OG cast members — Michael Evans Behling (Jordan), Greta Onieogou (Layla) and Bre-Z (Coop) — have inked new deals to return as series regulars.

Meanwhile, Samantha Logan (Olivia), Cody Christian (Asher), Karimah Westbrook (Grace James), Monét Mazur (Laura Baker) and Chelsea Tavares (Patience) are not returning as series regulars. Daniel Ezra, who starred as football phenom Spencer James since the show's inception, previously shared in June that he would not be back in a series-regular capacity for Season 7; The CW now confirms, though, that Ezra will be back to direct and guest-star in the new season, while "other fan-favorite OG characters" will also return as guest stars.

To fill the void left by the departing quintet, All American has added two new regulars to Season 7, which, per the official logline, "is taking it back to where it all began: Beverly Hills High and South Crenshaw High. It's the same heart, same NFL dream, same crosstown rivalry, same messy hormones, ushered in by a new generation of L.A. teens, a new Beverly coach and our OG Vortex fam, who are surprised to find they're supposed to be the responsible adults now."

Osy Ikhile (Citadel, Black Mirror) has joined as Cassius Jeremy, Beverly High's new football coach. Described as a family man and a tough coach, Coach Jeremy has freshly relocated from Oakland, and he's "determined to bring Beverly football back to its former glory, which means taking down South Crenshaw High's program by any means necessary," per the character description. Nathaniel McIntyre (David Makes Man) will co-star as Kingston Jeremy (aka KJ), Coach Jeremy's son and Beverly High's newly transferred quarterback who is singularly focused on playing for the NFL.

Additionally, Antonio J. Bell and Alexis Chikaeze — who respectively appeared in Season 6 as South Crenshaw student Khalil and Preach's daughter, Amina — have both been upped to series regulars for Season 7.

All American's cast exodus does track with the events of its sixth season, which brought closure to a number of storylines with its July 15 finale. Spencer and Olivia got married at last, and Olivia planned to join Spencer in New York where he was playing professional football; Laura passed down the Baker household to married couple Jordan and Layla, who had been struggling to find a new home they really loved; and Patience was embarking on the next chapter of her performing career.

The returning characters, on the other hand, had some doors left open for their storylines: Jordan followed in his late dad's footsteps by accepting a coaching gig at South Crenshaw High (and uncovered a family mystery, too), while Coop got into law school at both GAU and Yale, but had yet to make a decision between the two.

All American will be back in 2025 for its 13-episode seventh season. What do you make of the show's Season 7 plans?
