Casting News: Natalie Dormer Joins Extraction, Tiffani Thiessen's Disney Show And More

Natalie Dormer loves a franchise. The Game of Thrones and Hunger Games vet will star in Netflix's as-yet-untitled action series set in the Extraction film universe.

The eight-episode thriller, which hails from Glen Mazzara (The Shield, The Walking Dead), centers on a mercenary (played by Lupin's Omar Sy) who "embarks on a dangerous mission to rescue hostages in Libya," according to the official logline. "Trapped between warring factions and ruthless killers, he must navigate life-or-death choices while confronting deep emotional wounds. The series explores the trauma, betrayal, and moral conflicts of characters pushed to the edge."

According to Deadline, Dormer has been cast as Clayton Wisper, the leader of a private military contractor. Boyd Holbrook (The Sandman) also stars.

In other casting news...

Elsbeth Season 3 has enlisted Julia Fox (Uncut Gems) to guest-star. Per Varietyshe'll play Raquel Drabowski, a "Staten Island widow who transformed herself into an upscale NYC 'Grief Influencer' and reality star on the hit dating series Black Veil."

* Disney Channel's forthcoming original series Coven Academy has revealed its cast: Tiffani Thiessen (Saved by the Bell), Malina Pauli Weissman (A Series of Unfortunate Events), Malachi Barton (ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires), Louis Thresher (Boarders), Jordan Leftwich (Family Switch) and Ora Duplass (Their Town) will star in the supernatural dramedy from executive producer Tim Federle (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series). Premiering in 2026, the show "follows a trio of teenage witches-in-training who are bound by destiny to guard their city against dangerous, ancient forces," according to the official logline.
