Grey's Anatomy Taps Grown-Ish Vet For A Possible Series-Regular Role
Grey's Anatomy is getting a transfusion of fresh blood. Trevor Jackson, late of the black-ish spinoff grown-ish, will debut in May 8's penultimate episode of Season 21 in a recurring role that our sister site Deadline reports may turn into a series-regular one if — more likely when — the long-running ABC drama is renewed for Season 22.
The report doesn't say whether Jackson will be playing a doctor. But it's a logical assumption, considering that earlier this season the show wrote off Jake Borelli and Midori Francis as residents Levi Schmitt and Mika Yasuda, respectively. All that has been disclosed so far about Jackson's character is that he handsome and intelligent but arrogant. He's also new to the Seattle area.

In other Grey's Anatomy casting news, Igby Rigney (The Fall of the House of Usher) will be making his second appearance in Thursday's episode (at 10/9c) as baby-faced OB Scott Marcus. Per the official logline for "Don't You (Forget About Me)," Amelia and Simone do their damnedest to perform a high-stakes and groundbreaking brain surgery — on Blue's amnesiac ex-fiancée Molly, no less. Elsewhere in the hour, Jo struggles with her irritation toward young Dr. Marcus, and a medical conference in Oakland gives Teddy a chance to take her newly open marriage for a test drive with crush Cass (Sophia Bush).
