Law & Order: SVU: Chris Meloni Confirms He'll Guest-Star As Stabler In Season 27

Yes, "EO" fans: Your favorite pair of detectives are sharing the screen again.

Chris Meloni will return to Law & Order: SVU in the upcoming Season 27, reprising his role as Elliot Stabler as a guest star, Give Me My Remote reports. (When reached by TVLine, NBC declined to comment.)

Meloni confirmed the news himself on Saturday by posting a number of photos from the SVU set on Instagram, including one of him and Mariska Hargitay, who plays Stabler's longtime partner (not to mention slow-burn love interest) Olivia Benson.

Meloni captioned the photos, "Hangin with friends on a Friday nite," accompanied by snaps of him, Hargitay and Dann Florek, who played SVU's Captain Cragen until he exited the series in 2021.

Plus, franchise vets B.D. Wong (aka Dr. George Huang) and Dean Winters (aka detective Brian Cassidy) will make guest appearances in Season 27 of SVU, which premieres Thursday, Sept. 27 at 9/8c on NBC. That will be followed by the network premiere of Season 5 of the Meloni-led spinoff Law & Order: Organized Crime, which aired earlier this year on Peacock. (Check out all of NBC's fall premiere dates here.)

Also returning to SVU: Octavio Pisano, who will appear in the Season 27 premiere as Joe Velasco, though it was announced in May he'll be departing as a series regular. Not returning, though, is Juliana Aidén Martinez (aka Det. Kate Silva), who left SVU and joined CBS' FBI as a series regular.
