Scott Wolf Returning To Doc For Season 2 Guest Arc And Directing Gig

We haven't seen the last of Doc's Dr. Richard Miller: Scott Wolf is officially scrubbing back in for the medical drama's second season, TVLine has learned.

Wolf is set to appear in a multi-episode guest arc that will take place later this season. In addition, the actor will step behind the camera to direct an episode that will air early next year.

"We always knew when Richard got fired that would never be the last of him," co-showrunners/executive producers Barbie Kligman and Hank Steinberg said in a statement. "But no one expected him to come back to Westside like this — least of all Amy."

Based on Italy's Doc: Nelle tue maniDoc stars Molly Parker (Deadwood) as Dr. Amy Larsen, a hard-charging Chief of Internal Medicine who, following a car accident, cannot remember the past eight years of her life — including the facts that she and her doctor husband Michael (The Affair's Omar Metwally) are now divorced, that their son tragically died, that she was sneaking off for hook-ups with younger colleague Jake (Queen of the South's Jon Ecker), and that arch rival Richard (Party of Five's Wolf) did a very bad, potentially career-ending thing that only Amy had been witness to. In addition to Parker, Wolf and Metwally, the show's Season 2 cast also includes Amirah Vann (Dr. Gina Walker), Jon Ecker (Dr. Jake Heller), Anya Banerjee (Dr. Sonya Maitra), Patrick Walker (Dr. Theodore "TJ" Coleman) and Charlotte Fountain-Jardim (Katie Hamda), with Felicity Huffman joining as Dr. Joan Ridley. Emma Pfizer Price (Hannah) will recur.

Season 1 of Doc is currently streaming on Netflix.
