The Bachelorette Shocker: Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives' Taylor Frankie Paul Revealed As Next Season's Star

One Mormon wife's secret life is about to be a lot less secret.

Taylor Frankie Paul, who stars on the Hulu reality hit The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, will be handing out roses as the star of the upcoming season of The Bachelorette, TVLine has learned. Paul's season will debut next year on ABC.

A single mom of three from Utah, Paul is the breakout star of Mormon Wives, which has set ratings records for Hulu since debuting in 2024. She's built a huge following on social media along with her #MomTok co-stars, and she ignited a scandal when she revealed she and her then-husband engaged in "soft swinging" with other Mormon couples. (She has since divorced.) She's also had a tumultuous on-and-off relationship with Dakota, the father of her third child, which has been documented on Mormon Wives, so we'll have to see if that plays a role in her Bachelorette run.

Paul's casting marks a big change for the Bachelor franchise, which usually relies on former cast members to be the stars of subsequent seasons. In fact, The Bachelorette has never had a star that didn't compete in a previous season of The Bachelor, while The Bachelor has rarely picked a newcomer to star, most recently in 2021 with Matt James. But following the most recent Bachelorette season, starring Jenn Tran, The Bachelorette was put on hiatus, making this the first year since 2007 that a new season did not air.

Paul isn't the only Mormon Wives cast member to get called up to ABC: Her co-stars Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt will compete in the new season of Dancing With the Stars, debuting Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 8/7c on ABC. Season 3 of Mormon Wives, meanwhile, premieres Thursday, Nov. 13 on Hulu.

Alright, Bachelor Nation, let's hear it: How are you feeling about Taylor Frankie Paul as the new Bachelorette? Does her casting actually make you more interested in watching? Tell us in the comments!
