Casting News: Brooke Shields Returns To When Calls The Heart, One Direction Alums' Road Trip Doc And More

After nearly a decade, Brooke Shields is coming back to Hope Valley.

Shields will return to When Calls the Heart in the Hallmark hit's upcoming Season 13, Variety reports, reprising her role as Jack's mother Charlotte Thornton in a three-episode arc.

Shields last appeared as Charlotte in two Season 3 episodes, back in 2016. Since the, her son Jack has died, but last season ended with Elizabeth heading to stay at her former mother-in-law Charlotte's boarding house. Season 13 will feature "a heartwarming connection between Charlotte and her grandson, Little Jack, as she helps him reconnect with memories of his father," per the official description.

In other casting news...

* One Direction bandmates Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik will reunite for a road trip documentary series for Netflix, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The untitled series, expected to debut next year, will follow Tomlinson and Malik as they drive across America together and "discuss the tragic death of fellow One Direction band member Liam Payne, along with their own lives and careers."

* The Neighborhood has added Amber Stevens West (The Carmichael Show) in a key recurring role in the eighth and final season, premiering on CBS later this month, Deadline reports. She'll play Mercedes, a high-maintenance reality TV star who hires Malcolm to ghost-write her romance novel.

* Presumed Innocent has added Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve) to the Season 2 cast as a series regular, per Deadline. Shaw will play a law firm partner and fellow attorney to Rachel Brosnahan's Leila.

* Cecily Strong (SNL), Mark Pellegrino (Supernatural), Eric Johnson (Vikings) and Annie Shapero have joined the cast of Prime Video's The Boys prequel Vought Rising, led by Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, according to Deadline.
