Outlander Season 7 Part 2 Sneak Peek: Jamie Broods, Claire Is Amused As He Preps For A Dreaded Reunion With Laoghaire (Exclusive)
Outlander's Jamie isn't asking Claire permission to go see his ex, Laoghaire, in this exclusive Season 7 sneak peek. But he's also not not asking permission, because after nearly eight seasons and all the havoc that feisty blonde has wreaked, he knows what's good for him.
The time-travel drama's midseason doesn't return until Friday, Nov. 22, at 8/7c (Starz). But we've got an exclusive sneak peek at Mr. and Mrs. Fraser (played by Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, respectively) as they banter in the stables at Jamie's family home, Lallybroch.
Viewers will recall that the first half of Season 7 ended with Claire, Jamie and Young Ian returning to Scotland after a number of years away. The trip was to serve two purposes: bring home the corpse of Simon Fraser, a kinsman who died while fighting for the British in the American Revolution; and reacquaint Young Ian with his parents, Jenny and Ian, who hadn't seen him since he was a teen. When the series comes back in November, Claire and Jaime's sojourn at his ancestral seat means he's got time to take care of some unfinished business: Namely, having a conversation with Laoghaire, the ex-wife with whom he and Claire share a tortuous history.
"Claire, I need to go see Laoghaire," Jamie announces in the video above. "Will ye kill me if I do?"
The fact that Claire's reaction is one of amusement rather than ire — given that the woman in question a) tried to have her killed for being a witch and b) shot Jamie the last time they were all in the same country — speaks volumes about how far the Frasers have come by this point, no?
