Aliens Probe Dynasty's Fallon
It was bad enough when Dynasty recast Pamela Sue Martin with Emma Samms (who always struggled with her English accent). But when the soap's spinoff, The Colbys, had the character beamed up by a UFO, it strained credulity to the breaking point.

True Blood Takes Up Smoking
The Smoke Monster was never a favorite of Lost viewers, so why, exactly, HBO's fang favorite thought that it could get away with the same kind of beastie, we'll never know. What we do know, however, is that for one long season, the plot stranded not only Terry, but Arlene and special guest Scott Foley in storyline Siberia.

Girls' Marnie Finds Her Voice
Allison Williams is a great singer. (Check out her version of "Nature Boy"/Mad Men on YouTube if you doubt us!) But the HBO series' subplot in which her character decides that she, too, has the music in her feels a lot more like "Okay, so what do we do with her now?" than "Of course, now this is what we do with her." Gong!

24 Loses Its (Well, Teri's) Mind
Sure, everybody has a field day making fun of the cougar that terrorized Kim in 24's second season. But that doesn't mean that we've forgotten Teri's (atrocious!) bout with amnesia in season 1!

Grey's Phantom Menace
Ghost, it wasn't. In fact, we've been spooked ever since Grey's Anatomy had Izzie getting it on with... the specter of Denny? Her own addled self? We still have no idea!

Happy Days? As If!
No chiropractor could help the ABC hit after it bent over backwards to get the gang to Hollywood, put a leather-clad Fonzie on a beach and had him jump a shark! Seriously – it's now an actual term for a reason, folks!

Desperate Housewives' Chain Gang
Everybody was all excited that the ABC hit was diversifying by adding Alfre Woodard and family to the cast. Until they found out that she'd chained her son in the basement. Desperate? Sure. Good? Umm...

Judge Dredd Minus the Dredd
This isn't technically a plot twist, but it bears including. It seemed like a great idea when American Idol added Ellen DeGeneres to its panel of judges. Who doesn't love her, after all? But the funny lady was short on insight and reluctant to, y'know, critique. So, before you could say Paula Abdul, her chair turned into a hot seat that she was only too happy to vacate!

Get Lost... Please!
A lot of plot twists on Lost left viewers scratching their heads. But it was really only the sudden introduction (and demises) of Nikki and Paulo that left us not only scratching our heads but also beating them against a wall. Rest in peace, you contrivances, you!

Buffy's Beer of Living Dangerously
The depressing Buffy seasons notwithstanding, Joss Whedon's masterpiece rarely made a misstep... except in the episode that found supernaturally spiked lager turning tipplers into cavemen. Beer bad? Maybe. But this worse!

A Time to Kill on FNL
To this day, it remains the only blemish on Friday Night Lights' otherwise spotless record: the Season 2 plot that not only had Landry murder Tyra's attacker but also had them hiding the body and attempting to cover up the crime. Clear eyes, full hearts... the show lost us on that one.

The Good Wife Introduces the Ex
On paper, it seemed like a can't-lose storyline: Kalinda's never-before-seen snake of a husband appears on the scene and detonates her life. Sadly, the subsequent storyline – which was a cross between War of the Roses and 9 ½ Weeks – fizzled like a one-night stand that lasted weeks too long!

Dallas Dooms Pamela
It was bad enough when the long-running sudser revealed that Victoria Principal's character had survived her car crash, only to be recast. But the even bigger mistake was the show's decision to have Pam reveal that she was dying! Ain't nobody – especially the reboot – got time for that!
