The Plot: A former Vegas showgirl becomes a ballet instructor in the quiet town of Paradise, Calif.
The Cliffhangers: Ginny tells Michelle she lost her virginity, and Truly and Milly realize they're both in love with Scotty.
What Would've Been Next: Michelle would have remained in Paradise to teach alongside Fanny at the ballet school, and Truly (not Milly!) would marry Scotty. At least, that's what the cast speculated during the show's 2015 ATX Festival Reunion.

THE LYING GAME (30 episodes, 2011–2013)
The Plot: Twins Emma and Sutton, separated at birth, hatch a Parent Trap-style scheme to uncover the truth about their paternity.
The Cliffhangers: Just as Thayer is revealed to be Theresa's (possible) killer, Alec falls through the country club ceiling.
What Would've Been Next: Sadly, the would-be future of these characters remains a mystery. (Hey, I warned you. This is my White Whale!)
the-middleman-ending
THE MIDDLEMAN (12 episodes, 2008)
The Plot: A young artist is recruited by a top-secret agency to battle evil.
The Cliffhangers: The only burning questions left unanswered by the faux-nale were the identity of Wendy's father and the name of the Middleman's lost love.
What Would've Been Next: An unfilmed series finale script was read during the show's 2009 Comic-Con panel, revealing that the Middleman's lost love is named Ravina Rao — and that she was his Middleman. And while he didn't necessarily end up with Lacey, they did share an epic kiss.

The Cliffhangers: Chloe gives Brian a (potentially fatal) kiss and Zane launches an all-out assault against Jasmine and Valentina.
What Would've Been Next: As revealed in the script for Salvation, the unmade Chloe King movie: Brian would survive, then leave for college following the death of his grandmother; Simone, Valentina and Zane would all die in separate battles; and, most importantly, Chloe would fall in love with (and finally kiss) Alek.
ravenswood-ending
RAVENSWOOD (10 episodes, 2013–2014)
The Plot: Pretty Little Liars' Caleb Rivers discovers he has a supernatural connection to the mysterious town of Ravenswood.
The Cliffhangers: Raymond releases the spirit of past-life Caleb after Abaddon (temporarily) revives Miranda. Elsewhere, that weird little girl tricks Dillon into killing himself and Hanna breaks up with Caleb.
What Did Happen Next: As revealed upon Caleb's return to PLL, he and the others opened their jars at the bridge where they crashed their car, releasing all of the spirits — including Miranda's. After that, "no demons, no messages, no revenge."

Grace also moved to NYC for med school, as did Adrian and Omar (and their two children). Meanwhile, George moved into Amy and Ricky's apartment building, and Anne traveled the globe. Oh, and Jack married... Madison?!

What Would've Been Next: If you ask star Avan Jogia, which TVLine did, he'd tell you he thinks the police chief "went mental and popped all of us."
