Friends: 10 Iconic Episodes To Stream

Good news, Friends fans: After a months-long absence from the streaming landscape, the classic NBC sitcom is finally available to binge again, thanks to HBO Max.

To celebrate, we dug into the Friends archives and collected 10 must-watch episodes to remind you just how much you missed your old... friends. We've got all-time classics, personal favorites and lots of Ross being a huge nerd. Maybe 2020 is starting to look up?

Friends Blackout Chandler Jill Goodacre

"The One With the Blackout" (Season 1, Episode 7)

Spending just a little more time stuck in an ATM vestibule with Jill Goodacre? Why, that would be perfection.

'Friends' Rachel Mom Dad

"The One With the Two Parties" (Season 2, Episode 22)

This classic farce sees Rachel sneaking between two parties, Three's Company-style, to keep her feuding parents apart ("What would Jack and Chrissy do?") — and also lets us honor the recently deceased Ron Leibman, aka Rachel's dad Dr. Green.

'Friends' Everyone Finds Out Chandler Phoebe

"The One Where Everybody Finds Out" (Season 5, Episode 14)

This ridiculously fun installment, with Chandler and Phoebe playing an increasingly sexy game of chicken over their shared knowledge of his secret romance with Monica, is such an immaculately constructed piece of situation comedy, it should be on display in a museum. ("They don't know that we know they know we know!")

'Friends' The Routine Ross Monica New Years Eve

"The One With the Routine" (Season 6, Episode 10)

Not only does this one feature Ross and Monica at maximum dorkitude, as they geek out over the chance to dance on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve — but it's also timed perfectly for your New Year's Eve celebration!

friends-ross-is-fine-fajitas

"The One Where Ross Is Fine" (Season 10, Episode 2)

Ross might be "fine!!" but we're not fine with the fact that David Schwimmer wasn't awarded at least ten Emmys for his hilariously frantic work here, as a drunk-on-margaritas Ross works very hard to convince everyone that he's OK with Rachel and Joey dating. ("My fajitas!")

Friends Rachel Joey 30th Birthday Why God Why

"The One Where They All Turn Thirty" (Season 7, Episode 14)

Rachel's big 3-0 prompts everyone to reminisce about their own birthdays — including Joey, who is really shaken up about the milestone. ("Why God, why?! We had a deal! Let the others grow old, not me!")

'Friends' No One's Ready Joey Chandler Chair

"The One Where No One's Ready" (Season 3, Episode 2)

Ross needs everyone to get ready in time to leave for a black-tie event at the museum. Among the many holdups is a petty (and hilarious) squabble between Joey and Chandler over the sitting rights to Monica's chair.

'Friends' The One With the Embryos

"The One With the Embryos" (Season 4, Episode 12)

While Phoebe undergoes an embryo transplant for her brother Frank Jr. and his wife Alice, Joey and Chandler (or is it Miss Chanandler Bong?) challenge Monica and Rachel to a who-knows-who-best competition.

'Friends' Prom Video Ross Rachel Lobsters

"The One With the Prom Video" (Season 2, Episode 14)

Monica's old home video shows Ross' true feelings for Rachel — and the rest is history. ("She's your lobster!")

'Friends' Ross Rachel We Were On a Break

"The One With the Jellyfish" (Season 4, Episode 1)

Rachel writes Ross a long letter about their relationship ("Eighteen pages! Front and back!"). Plus, Monica gets stung by a jellyfish, and Joey's "stage fright" forces Chandler to step up and help, um, "cure the sting."
