"What was it he said that got everyone so upset?" Crowley wonders as he and Aziraphale watch Jesus get nailed to a cross. "Be kind to each other," the angel answers. "Oh yeah," Crowley quips, "that'll do it."

PARIS, 1793

Aziraphale gets peckish, hops over to Paris for some crepes and winds up in line for the guillotine during the French Revolution — which, for the record, was not Crowley's doing. Still, the demon rescues his pal from discorporation, then they grab a bite.

KINGDOM OF WESSEX, 537 AD

During a stint where both beings are dressed a knights, Crowley first comes up with the idea of cutting down their work by cancelling out each other's deeds, with their superiors none the wiser. Aziraphale isn't a fan.

Crowley interferes with a Nazi bombing pattern — and risks scorching his feet on consecrated ground — to save Aziraphale from a spy mission gone pear-shaped.

Crowley nips in for "a quick temptation," and when he runs into Aziraphale in a bar, the foodie angel announces his intention to introduce the demon to oysters.

While Crowley and Aziraphale watch an early production of Hamlet — with William Shakespeare in the audience! — we learn that the angel apparently changed his mind at some point, and they've done their "arrangement" dozens of times. Oh, and the play's success is all thanks to a little devilish intervention.

Though Crowley's planning to rob a church to get the holy water he still desires, Aziraphale shows up at the last minute to hand over a Thermos full of the stuff. Touched, the demon says he'll drive his friend anywhere he wants to go. "You go too fast for me, Crowley," Aziraphale says before exiting the car.

A surly Crowley wants "insurance" if Hell gets word of his cooperation with an angel, so he asks Aziraphale for some holy water — a deadly substance for a demon to handle. After they argue, the highly offended angel stalks off.
