Grey's Anatomy: Our Hopes For Season 13

Toward the end of Season 12, Meredith and Nathan were revealed to be fairly spectacular sparring partners. (Banter grade: A.) So, rather than rush them into a serious relationship in Season 13, we'd like to see them continue to make sparks fly as they fight a losing battle with their growing feelings. Sorry, Maggie.

Take it from DeLuca's black-and-blue face: Come Season 13, Jo has to tell Alex that she turned down his proposal because she's already married. Once she does — and goes through the ordeal of divorcing her abuser — there will be literally nothing standing in the way of a Jolex wedding.

Since Season 12 ended with Jackson and April on better terms than we'd seen them since Samuel's death — and they're now the parents of a beautiful baby girl — we'd have scheme queen Catherine use her powers for good by trying to re-pair her son and the former wife that he clearly still loves.

After so much talk about how not Cristina Amelia is, we hope that Owen's bride will give him the one thing that his beloved ex-wife wouldn't — the chance to be a father. (You have to admit, Kevin McKidd is pretty great in his scenes with kids.)

Opposite both Jesse Williams (Jackson) and, briefly in Season 12, Wilmer Valderrama (ex-Kyle), Jerrika Hinton proved that she's as appealing a romantic lead as a series could dream of. So, in Season 13, we'd give Stephanie a real love — preferably one with a clean bill of health. Say, Andrew's free...

In the wake of her divorce from Callie, Arizona had a tough time tapping back into her slutty side. But now that she has — thanks, Richard! — we want to follow her on some dates in Season 13, weighing in along the way on which women we think might be keepers.

Though Meredith wasn't ready for a "major" affair in Season 12, we'd bring back Scott Elrod as Dr. Thorpe in Season 13 to mend Maggie's heart, which seems destined to be re-broken once she realizes that her post-Andrew crush, Nathan, enjoys, er, going for rides with Meredith.

We know there's not a snowball's chance in hell that Katherine Heigl will ever be invited to reprise her role of Izzie. But, since Sandra Oh and Sara Ramirez both left Grey's on good terms, would it be too much to ask to have Cristina and Callie visit in Season 13?
