Supernatural Team On The Scenes They're Most Proud Of

supernatural-proudest-scenes-danneel-ackles

Danneel Ackles (Sister Jo aka Anael)

"I know I should say the scene with Jensen [Ackles], but more of the hotel room scenes with Mark Pellegrino. He's such a great actor. I am subpar at best, but he really elevates everybody." (Season 13, Episode 13, "Devil's Bargain")

supernatural-proudest-scenes-eugenie-ross-leming

Eugenie Ross-Leming (executive producer)

"I liked writing and watching the episode where Cas lost his virginity, when he became fully human. He did it really well. It's something I'm glad we were able to do." (Season 9, Episode 3, "I'm No Angel")

supernatural-proudest-scenes-jared-padalecki

Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester)

"As far as an episode, it's hard to argue with the pilot. It was set up so well. Here we are, 300 episodes later. But individual moments, there was a scene in a motel room where Sam says to Dean, 'You're my brother. I've always looked up to you because you're my brother.' And something kind of clicked that's held through, where it's like, 'I see it. I see where these guys come from and why they love each other so much, why he looks up to him so much.' Something clicked there that has stayed with me since." (Season 3, Episode 7, "Fresh Blood")

supernatural-proudest-scenes-jensen-ackles

Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester)

"When Dean is dying, and Sam is there, and he says, 'I'm proud of us.' I was pretty proud of both of our performances in that scene, and I was also proud of the message that we sent." (Season 9, Episode 23, "Do You Believe in Miracles?")

supernatural-proudest-scenes-misha-collins

Misha Collins (Castiel)

"Recently, The Empty Cas talking to Cas scenes were so hard. It was so hard. I, literally, felt like I just needed an IV at the end of that shooting day." (Season 13, Episode 4, "The Big Empty")

supernatural-proudest-scenes-phil-sgriccia

Phil Sgriccia (executive producer/director)

"The Season 8 finale when the angels fell to earth. It was one of those moments on the mixing stage, when we had all the music and sound effects, the way it ended, it gave me goosebumps. It was one of those moments where you're like, 'Oh, OK, it worked.'" (Season 8, Episode 23, "Sacrifice")

supernatural-proudest-scenes-richard-speight-jr

Richard Speight Jr. (Gabriel)

"Doing the scene where Gabriel revealed himself to be Gabriel was a landmark scene for me because it solidified the character's stronghold in the universe of the show and made him not just a one-off character, but suddenly Gabriel was part of the big mythology of the show, and that was awesome.

Directing-wise, 'Just My Imagination' was just one of those episodes I'll never forget because it was my first time directing the show, working with a crew that I admire, look up to, working with two actors who are second to none in terms of commitment and talent. It was an intimidating, but awe-inspiring experience. I remember doing a scene with Jared [Padalecki] and Nate [Torrence], who played Sully, and Jared telling Sully that he's got to go back in the fight, and that was such a moving, beautiful piece of acting on his part. I could remember working with Jensen [Ackles], and watching Jensen do the comedy of not being able to see Nate in the scenes in the kitchen... and the blood-on-my-face sequence, where there's sparkle blood all over the room. There are so many moments in that first episode that resonate with me because it was my first attempt to be the storyteller behind the lens, and watching those guys do what they do at the highest level was just really, really, really special for me." (Season 11, Episode 8, "Just My Imagination")

supernatural-proudest-scenes-ruth-connell

Ruth Connell (Rowena)

"I'll always have a soft spot for 'Regarding Dean,' and all the stuff with Mark [Pellegrino] at the beginning [of Season 12]. But the last season, to be given such emotional range challenges to find or meet was so great. The incantation spell, I remember filming with [director] Amanda Tapping, when I'm on the ground, breaking free... Those words in Latin, I could be writing for myself. So much of it is so intertwined in your own life and feeling. It means so much to me to film the show." (Season 13, Episode 12, "Various & Sundry Villains")

supernatural-proudest-scenes-samantha-smith

Samantha Smith (Mary Winchester)

"The [episode] in Season 12 when all the vampires come into the bunker... I felt like it was very Mary-driven. She was trying to convince Sam, and there was reconciliation, and Mary was really established as a leader. I felt like that was a turning point for Mary's character, because the whole first half of Season 12, she was scrambling backwards, trying to figure out who she was, where she was, where she was going, what she wanted, who her boys were. And she finally put down her feet and was like, 'Oh, here I am,' and I feel like it progressed nicely from there." (Season 12, Episode 14, "The Raid")

supernatural-proudest-scenes-sera-gamble

Sera Gamble (former showrunner)

"I am proud of the scene in the episode where Bobby Singer dies... where it's just him on the couch with Sam and Dean, and he really claims them as his sons in a way. Jim Beaver is one of my favorite actors I've ever worked with. So for me, as someone who got to be a part of this big story, that was a big one. That, and you know, Jared and Jensen playing Jared and Jensen playing Sam and Dean [in 'The French Mistake'] was a delight from start to finish." (Season 7, Episode 10, "Death's Door")

supernatural-proud-scenes-eric-kripke

Eric Kripke (creator)

"The sitcom opening credit sequence, complete with theme song, of 'Changing Channels.' Between [former showrunner] Jeremy Carver writing the song lyrics, [composer] Jay Gruska writing the Alan Thicke melody, the discussion about finding the perfect Full House-style font, what sitcom moments the boys should do on camera... So much love and care and detail went into that one bit of silliness. And it is a great example of the fun we had, seeing how meta we could get and how much could we play with the form and structure of the show. Turns out there were no limits." (Season 5, Episode 8, "Changing Channels")

supernatural-proudest-scenes-andrew-dabb

Andrew Dabb (showrunner)

"My favorite scene in the history of the show is actually John's death, that entire episode. I couldn't say I'm proud of it because I literally had nothing to do with it. I'm just a fan. But that to me is the single best scene the show has ever done. (Season 2, Episode 1, "In My Time of Dying)

[From my episodes], I'm very happy with the way we were able to bring Mary back. I think it worked out really, really for us, with great credit to the guys [Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki] and Samantha [Smith] on how that worked out. My very first episode, Jensen sang 'Eye of the Tiger,' and I'm very proud of that, too." (Season 4, Episode 6, "Yellow Fever")
