Broadway stalwart Erich Bergen says Blake gets a musical moment — "a big one" — during the festivities. (Even better? The band from Bergen's one-man show will be there to back him up.)  "I had an idea for two songs. Eric Stoltz, who's directing the episode, wanted to change one of the songs. What he came up was an even better idea," the actor previews.

As we saw in the previous episode, Daly notes, Stevie's dad is fully on board with her choice of husband. "Henry's behavior towards Dmitri, the way he's treated him, shows that he really loves him," the actor says. "He really appreciates him for his character, for his sacrifices — and also, Stevie loves him. If your kid finds someone that they really, really love, you put aside whatever issues you might have and say, 'Go for it.'"

"We needed to have our friends back!" cries Leoni, noting that actors like Sebastian Arcelus, Geoffrey Arend and Patina Miller "are all very busy, wanted actors" and that the show couldn't get everyone back "because it's just too difficult."

Maybe Stevie's chuckling because she remembers when the show, for the briefest of moments, paired her with Bergen's Blake? "I love working with Wallis," he says, "so I'm always down to play and do weird things with her. But I think when I first read the script, it was so out of left field that I thought, 'Oh, no. We're getting cancelled.'" (For those who might not have watched then: Though Blake had previously come out as bisexual, Stevie was the first woman we'd seen him take interest in.) He laughs as he adds, "The reaction was mixed... but we can't take this too seriously. This is the land of make-believe and it's really fun to play with people's heads and give them something to talk about, and I loved it."

You didn't think the McCords would have a bash without inviting Peter Frampton, did you?

"The chemistry between Stevie and Dmitri was profoundly commented on with social media," Leoni notes. "People loved it." She credits co-star Wallis Curry-Wood with taking the McCords' elder daughter through so many transformations over the course of the series. "We wanted to pay tribute to her work."

How much involvement did the First Gentleman of the United States have in his daughter's wedding? "It's mostly Stevie's deal," Daly says. (Hey, at least it's not in a jail cell, a la Elizabeth and Henry's renewal!)

Before the festivities start, World Cup Champion U.S. Women's Soccer Team members Ali Krieger, Ashlyn Harris, Allie Long and Crystal Dunn will join Elizabeth in the Oval Office as she kicks off a landmark political initiative. "I'm purely excited," Leoni tells TVLine, adding that the athletes' appearance is "in reference to the signing of a bill that is relevant to women's issues, so I'm very excited to have them here. Man, I wish we'd had them earlier." In addition, Cicely Tyson will play a woman born on the day women were granted the right to vote; she will be there to witness women's history being made at the White House.
