Taryn Manning ("Pennsatucky")
"Having to cut all my hair off. It was very traumatic. It was like they took away her bravado and she felt exposed. I was like, 'Really, guys? You're cutting my hair off?' That was challenging, but I've accepted it. I've adapted."
Episode 13, "We Have Manners. We're Polite."

Lorraine Toussaint ("Vee")
"I loved my first scene with Taystee, where I meet the young Taystee. It had a sort of horrific mix of humor and maternal nature. I liked that. The toughest scene was my nude scene [in Episode 12], because I had never done it before. No one's asked me about that. Maybe I shouldn't bring it up. [Laughs] That was really hard."
Episode 2, "Looks Blue, Tastes Red"

Kate Mulgrew ("Red")
"I'll go instantly to the scene where [Red and Vee] re-meet. It had every color and everything was understated. That's beautiful to play — the many feelings we had when I came around the corner and there she was. I loved all my scenes with her this past season."
Episode 3, "Hugs Can Be Deceiving"

Danielle Brooks ("Taystee") and Samira Wiley ("Poussey")
Brooks: "Episode 12, for me. In the library."
Wiley: "Yeah, I think Episode 12. The whole season, this rift is happening, and we finally face each other in that scene. And it's all dramatic! [Laughs] 'Cause it's raining and thundering and lightning."
Brooks: "We're by ourselves!"
Wiley: "But it still felt safe the whole time. It felt good because I was doing it with my homie."
Episode 12, "It Was the Change"

Uzo Aduba ("Crazy Eyes")
"I really enjoyed the Celebrity game scene. That was one of the first, if not the first scene, where I got to play with all those girls. I remember we rehearsed it so much, because we really wanted that scene to sing. I didn't even have a lot of lines. All I said was, 'Time!' or '5, 4, 3, 2, 1, go!' I remember feeling like we were trying to find that timing and the pace and really make that dance."
Episode 3, "Hugs Can Be Deceiving"

Jason Biggs ("Larry Bloom")
"When Piper is on furlough, and she hits on me in the bathroom. It had a little bit of everything. It was funny, but it was also kind of heartbreaking. Taylor and I had a good time doing that scene. It ran the whole gamut of emotions. For me, it encapsulated everything that Larry was about and that I've been able to play with him over the last two seasons."
Episode 9, "40 Oz. of Furlough"

Laura Prepon ("Alex Vause")
"In Episode 10, Taylor and I had to do this whole scene where my ex-girlfriend comes in and beats her up, and then we have this funny scene afterwards where we're trying to pick up her clothes and put this whole thing together. That was a fun day. We had a bunch of cool moments in that scene, I thought."
Episode 10, "Little Mustachioed S—t"

Michael Harney ("Mr. Healy")
"The scene that [Taryn and I] did on the bench with the cookie. It ripped the cover off of separateness, and it really showed the humanity that is always lurking underneath these horrible circumstances that we find ourselves in within the prison. [The fact that Healy doesn't fully hug Pennsatucky] is indicative of not being able to be human beings with each other. The systemic model that we're living in doesn't allow that."
Episode 6, "You Also Have a Pizza"
