The werewolf had every intention of committing patricide in "This World Is Our Hell." But then, his father turned the tables and slayed Ethan by disclosing that his family — including his beloved baby sister — had been slaughtered by the Apaches he'd escorted to the Talbot ranch.

Only two episodes into the season, and we were as enamored of Alexander as Vanessa was. So imagine our surprise — and horror! — to find out that the mild-mannered zoologist was, in fact, Dracula. (In retrospect, we don't know how we didn't see it coming. Guess love really does make you blind!)

Episode 302

During a full moon, the werewolf was staging a repeat performance of the Mariner's Inn Massacre in "Predators Near and Far" when Evelyn's witchy daughter appeared out of nowhere to save his tail and begin proving to "the hound of God" that she could be as loyal as any dog.

Back in "Predators Near and Far," the immortals seemed like the perfect couple as they rescued a young prostitute from the underground club where she'd have been butchered to entertain rich pervs. And, even blood-spattered, the lovers looked elegant enough for dinner at Downton Abbey.

Episode 301

In the season's most beautiful monologue, Vanessa's new suitor admitted that his favorite natural history museum exhibits were "the unvisited ones... all the broken and shunned creatures." By the time he suggested that "someone's got to care for them" and asked, "Who shall it be if not us?" we were as smitten as Miss Ives.

During the flashback-filled "A Blade of Grass," "John Clare" — then an orderly at the Banning Clinic — found himself unable to sit idly by and watch Miss Ives suffering as an inpatient. So he tenderly brushed her hair, made up her face and beseeched her not to forget who she was outside of her padded room.

Episode 307

So impassioned was the former Brona Croft's call to arms in "Ebb Tide" that it's no wonder her army of prostitutes — charged with bringing their mistress the right hand of a bad man — returned to Dorian's with enough appendages to leave half of London unable to applaud.

Episode 306

After watching sickly Jack struggle just to draw a breath in "No Beast So Fierce," the boy's father could take it no more. He left his hiding place and went to his son's side. "Are you an angel?" Jack asked. Alas, when he opened his eyes and saw Frankenstein's monster, he screamed, making the Creature wish he could die a second time.

"Give me your neck," the vampire ordered Dr. Seward's petrified secretary before revealing his name. "Give me your throat. Give me your blood." Somehow, the fact that, during Dracula's introduction, we weren't allowed to see him, only a terrified Renfield, made the scene that much more chilling.

Exhausted from years of battling the dark forces that so relentlessly pursued her, Miss Ives finally gave up in "Ebb Tide." When the vampire promised to love her "till time has lost all meaning" and asked, "Do you accept me?" the reluctant mother of evil replied, "I accept myself."
