South Park's Most Offensive Episodes

south-park-jennifer-lopez-ben-affleck

"Fat Butt and Pancake Head"

This wicked Season 7 parody of Jennifer Lopez — transforming her into a crude Cartman hand puppet that sings about "taco-flavored kisses" — became really uncomfortable when Ben Affleck dumped the real J.Lo to get intimate with Cartman's hand. What's more painful for Affleck to watch now: this, or Gigli?

south-park-lemmiwinks

"The Death Camp of Tolerance"

Ugh... we get grossed out just thinking about this scatological Season 6 installment, where an intrepid gerbil named Lemmiwinks found himself shoved into Mr. Slave's rectum and set out on an epic journey through the man's digestive system. Although we have to admit, we still find ourselves humming "The Ballad of Lemmiwinks" from time to time.

south-park-scientology-tom-cruise

"Trapped in the Closet"

This Season 9 attack on Scientology angered adherents of the controversial religion — including, reportedly, Tom Cruise — by revealing the truth of their beliefs: a bizarre tale involving volcanoes, "thetans," and an evil alien overlord named Xenu. (Really.) The kicker was the onscreen text insisting that "This Is What Scientologists Actually Believe."

south-park-scott-tenorman

"Scott Tenorman Must Die"

Sick of being bullied by ninth-grader Scott Tenorman, Cartman got the ultimate revenge: He had Scott's parents killed and ground up their bodies to make chili... which Scott then ate. ("Nyeah-nyeah-nyeah-nyeah, I made you eat your parents!") The lesson, as always? Don't get on Eric Cartman's bad side.

south-park-paris-hilton

"Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset"

Remember Paris Hilton? It seems like a long time since she mattered, but back in Season 8, South Park mercilessly skewered her, wonky eye and all. In town to promote her new fragrance "Skanque," Paris was so insufferable that her pet chihuahua blew its brains out to get away from her. But don't worry: She found a new pet in Butters!

south-park-jesse-jackson

"With Apologies to Jesse Jackson"

We all winced when Randy tried to solve a Wheel of Fortune puzzle by blurting out the N-word on live TV. (The correct answer was "naggers," by the way.) But this episode was actually praised by African-American groups for shining a light on the power of hate speech.

south-park-steve-irwin-crocodile-hunter

"Hell on Earth 2006"

When Satan threw a big Halloween bash in Season 10, one of the attendees was the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, with a stingray stuck in his chest — just weeks after Irwin's real-life death. An Irwin family friend blasted the parody as going "too far, too soon." But to be fair, Satan said the same thing!

south-park-shit-it-hits-the-fan

"It Hits the Fan"

Shit happened (again and again) in the Season 5 premiere, with a TV cop show's use of the S-word leading to an epidemic of profanity among the residents. With a handy counter ticking off every instance, the word "shit" was uttered a whopping 162 times. With zero bleeps!

south-park-michael-jackson

"The Jeffersons"

Cartman found a new friend in Season 8 with "Mr. Jefferson," a childlike man who loved sharing his house full of toys and "plaaaayyyyy"-ing with the local kids. (Oh, and sleeping in bed next to them.) What, you think that was Michael Jackson behind that mustache? That's ignorant!

south-park-chef-death

"The Return of Chef"

Isaac Hayes, the voice of South Park's Chef, left the show in protest following its jabs at Scientology. Parker and Stone responded by giving his character a Viking funeral. After being brainwashed into joining a "fruity little club" of child molesters, Chef was killed off in gory fashion: impaled, shot, and mauled by both a mountain lion and a grizzly bear. You bastards!

south-park-not-without-my-anus

"Terrance & Phillip: Not Without My Anus"

Parker and Stone proved they'd antagonize anyone — even their own fans — with the Season 2 premiere. Viewers tuned in expecting to learn who Cartman's father was, but instead were treated to a full episode of vulgar Canadian pranksters Terrance & Phillip. Thousands of fans complained to the network, and the episode resolving the cliffhanger was actually moved up to appease them.

south-park-mormons

"All About Mormons"

Years before they took Broadway by storm with The Book of Mormon, Parker and Stone spoofed Mormonism in Season 7 with a jaunty retelling of founder John Smith's life story. As the more outlandish details of the Mormon faith were revealed, background singers chimed in with a "Dumb-dumb-dumb-dumb-dumb" chorus. And no, they weren't just harmonizing.

south-park-200-muhammad

"200"/"201"

South Park stoked real-world controversy with its two-part 200th episode, which promised to contain an image of the Muslim prophet Muhammad. Before the second part aired, Muslim radicals threatened Parker and Stone's lives — and Comedy Central heavily censored the episode against the creators' wishes. To this day, "200" and "201" aren't available to view online or via streaming on Hulu.

south-park-jersey-shore-snooki

"It's a Jersey Thing"

South Park has been brutal in mocking celebrities, but their take on Jersey Shore's Snooki might be the harshest of all. The town banded together to drive out an invasion of obnoxious, spray-tanned Jerseyites — including a grotesquely feral Snooki, who devoured pickles and attempted to rape every male in sight. Not even an MTV reality star deserves that.

south-park-human-centipede-apple

"HumancentiPad"

The Human Centipede horror franchise and Apple's impossibly dense user agreements collided in the stomach-churning Season 15 premiere. Kyle discovered that by agreeing to Apple's terms and conditions, he actually consented to be sewn, mouth to anus, between two other unfortunate souls. A good reminder to read all of the fine print before clicking "Agree"!

south-park-indiana-jones-rape

"The China Probrem"

The gang's childhoods were ruined (and ours, too) when they went to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and were horrified to witness Steven Spielberg and George Lucas literally raping Indiana Jones. Twice! We hated the movie, too, but now we're also stuck with these images burned into our retinas.

south-park-bloody-mary

"Bloody Mary"

Can you believe that an episode featuring a statue of the Virgin Mary that bled out of its anus actually offended some Catholics? This especially irreverent Season 9 offering led to the Catholic League demanding an apology and recommending that the episode be "permanently retired." Their prayers weren't answered, though: It's still available on Hulu.

south-park-scissoring

"D-Yikes!"

"Scissor me timbers!" If you know of any method that can bleach the image of newly declared lesbian Mrs. Garrison and her girlfriend scissoring (not pictured here, for decency's sake) out of our brains, let us know. We'd pay good money.

south-park-kanye-west-fishsticks

"Fishsticks"

"Do you like fishsticks? What are you, a gay fish?" This dumb (yet hilarious) joke was the basis for Season 13's vicious takedown of rapper Kanye West, which portrayed him as both an egomaniacal idiot who couldn't take a joke and, eventually, an actual gay fish. The real Kanye blogged that the episode hurt his feelings — but admitted it was "pretty damn funny."

south-park-hillary-clinton-snuke

"The Snuke"

If Hillary Clinton does ultimately win the Presidency, she can rest easy knowing that South Park already savagely mocked her back in Season 11, with a 24-style episode where a nuclear device was found nestled inside Hillary's, well, lady regions. They can't do worse to her than that, right? Right?
