After spending an entire episode trying not to kiss each other, Nick and Jess make up for lost time and kiss for 12 seconds. And we squeal for about 12 minutes because of it.

Episode: "Phase One"
With SD-6 literally crumbling around them, Syd and Vaughn finally get to act on a season-and-a-half's worth of USST (unresolved spy sexual tension).
TVLine reader Betsylovestv offered an honorable mention from "Double Agent": "Sydney and Vaughn in the kitchen against the oven with Coldplay in the background. Wore out my VCR tape on that one (literally)."

Mulder plants one on his long-suffering baby mama – and this time she doesn't have cancer, they're not in 1939, there's no bee lurking anywhere and no mistletoe in sight, so you know it's the real deal.

In perhaps the most vulnerable we have ever seen him, House makes an (ahem) house call to Cuddy's and ends up kissing her. (Note: No hallucinations were used in the creation of this kiss.)

Glee's Blaine and Kurt
Episode: "Original Song"

It was the (same-sex) kiss for which Gleeks had been waiting an eternity. Baby-faced Kurt Hummel — having transfered to Dalton Academy and fallen for dapper Blaine Anderson — finally had his feelings reciprocated. That Blaine's romantic realization occurred as a result of Kurt's performance of "Blackbird" made the moment all the more special. As did this adorable kicker — Blaine pulling back and noting, "We should practice." Kurt grinning slyly and responding, "I thought we were." We still swoon to this very day!

"You are the nuttiest, the stupidest, the phoniest fruitcake I ever met!" After all that sweet talk, are you as turned on as we are? 
 
TVLine reader Matt: "How the @#*! is Sam and Diane's first kiss on Cheers (in Sam's office) not on this list? No way you're going to tell me that a Gossip Girl kiss was more memorable than the two marquee characters on one of TV's most successful sitcoms.
 

Fringe's Olivia and Peter

As Season 2 comes to a close, Peter discovers the true purpose of the machine, his role in activating it and Walternate's evil agenda. When he feels more than ever adrift and not belonging to either world, Olivia (in Fauxlivia's guise) asserts that he belongs back on "our" side, that he belongs with her — and the kiss that follows rocks every possible universe.

In a truly precious moment between the two, Lorelai holds still just long enough for Luke to kiss her. (Editor's note: It was a toss-up between this and the "Man That Got Away" porch smooch. L&L certainly have their moments, no?)
