And Just Like That EPs Tell All About The Hot New Gardener In Carrie's Life: 'That's Like An Aphrodisiac'
Warning: This post contains spoilers for Thursday's And Just Like That.
Carrie has to plant a whole new garden in her backyard... and something might be blooming between her and a whole new man.
This week on And Just Like That..., Carrie was forced to rip out all the greenery behind her townhouse when she discovered an infestation of rats (or "a rat superhighway," as she put it). She also got a surprise visit from Aidan, but the two of them seemed a little out of sync. (She was annoyed when she sent him a photo of a table she wanted to buy for their house and he responded with a blunt thumbs-down emoji.) She started to wonder if a long-distance relationship can actually work, and theorized that a true relationship is one where two people stand in front of each other and ask: "What do you think?"
Enter: Adam (played by Big Sky's Logan Marshall-Green), the handsome new landscaper Carrie hired to redo her backyard. (He's not just pulling weeds, either: He designed Liv Tyler's garden!) They talked a bit and seemed to hit it off before Adam asked Carrie what her vision was for her backyard. She then asked him what he thinks... and he asked her what she thinks! (A-ha!) She admitted she didn't know, but he was OK with that: That way, "what's meant to be has the space to show up," he noted. Hmmm...
So should Aidan be worried about this new man in Carrie's life (and yard)? Carrie and Aidan are "out of each other's spheres" this season, executive producer Elisa Zuritsky points out in a chat with TVLine, "and he's, by the way, let's not forget, communicating with an emoji, which is... disappointing."
Carrie and Aidan did just "have this very grown-up conversation" about their relationship, EP Julie Rottenberg (who co-wrote this week's episode with Zuritsky) reminds us: "We're airing it out. We're saying what's on our minds. We're in a better place. But the truth is, he's on a plane, and she's there alone in New York City, and a hot gardener is [there]... So for someone [like Aidan] who's less verbal, I think, than Carrie is, that leaves her open, you can say, to any number of other possibilities, including a hot gardener."

And it's not just Adam's looks that catch Carrie's eye, Rottenberg adds: "I think she is feeling maybe a little invisible, and he really looks at her and takes her in and wants to hear from her, and wants to draw her out: What do you want? What do you see? What's your vision? And that's like an aphrodisiac, especially if you're someone who's been missing that, as Carrie has been."
Are you kinda rooting for Carrie to give Adam a try? Or are you still hoping Carrie and Aidan can make it work? Grab a cosmo and give us your thoughts in the comments.
