Chicago Med EPs Talk Hannah/Dean ('They Have Feelings But They're Sublimated'), Tease New Romance
The Hannah Asher and Dean Archer "situationship" on Chicago Med may be on its way to becoming a love triangle square.
Last season, Hannah found herself forming a bond with Dean as she supported him through a health crisis while also helping him to repair his broken relationship with his son, Sean. In the process, the OB-GYN inadvertently found herself caught between the two men, when Sean became interested in Hannah but mistakenly assumed that something was going on between her and his father.
"There wasn't really [feelings] from Hannah's point of view with Dean's son, Sean. Hannah didn't really have a romantic interest in that. It was very one-sided," co-showrunner Diane Frolov assures TVLine.
Hannah and Dean, however, is another case. "She's going to continue to be very close to Archer. That's still going to be going forward," Frolov says.
And their bond may not stay platonic: "Friendships can turn into romantic relationships," co-showrunner Andrew Schneider notes, adding, "I think they both have feelings, but they're very sublimated."

In the meantime, Hannah has tried her hand at dating to diasterious results — the first guy ended up being a married soon-to-be father, while the second sent her an unsolicited d–k pic — but a new player has entered the hospital and piqued the blonde's interest.
"Hannah and Ripley are developing a friendship, which might well turn into something more romantic," Schneider says of Luke Mitchell's newcomer, who has sparked with Hannah on more than one occasion.
If Hannah and Ripley become an actual couple, "Archer can't but help feel a little jealous, but he wouldn't show it because he's generous," Schneider shares.
Plus, he won't exactly be lonely: "He has his own romance going," Schneider reveals.
