Nobody Wants This Stars Talk Morgan And Sasha's Weird Friendship, Esther's Reaction: 'What Are The Boundaries?'

Noah and Joanne aren't the only mix-matched Jew and shiksa on Nobody Wants This.
Noah's brother Sasha and Joanne's sister Morgan also struck up their own unconventional relationship while their siblings were dating. What started off as annoyance on Morgan's part — she used the ogre emoji to describe Sasha — morphed into a reluctant friendship by the end of the Netflix rom-com's first season. Sasha found a kindred fellow "loser sibling" in Morgan, although he noted that Morgan is far superior and hotter than her "too short" sister. With comments look those and love kinda like/hate banter, one can't help wondering if Morgan and Sasha's dynamic is strictly platonic or something more.

"I think that that is interesting, in that, like, I don't know, you meet a lot of people. You meet people from different cultures, and especially, like, if you get to the age that those characters are, you're considering a lot of things," says Timothy Simons, who plays Sasha. "It can all be sort of, like, confusing and undefined, and — I mean this in a very broad sense — there is an attraction to another person. So trying to figure out exactly what that is, I think, can be a little sort of not destabilizing, but shaky or a little bit weird, and I think it's interesting to explore that."
Justine Lupe, who portrays Morgan, believes the characters are just as confused by what's going on between them as viewers might be. "I feel like they are trying to figure out exactly what it is. I think we were right along with them," the actress shares.
In the season finale, Morgan remarks that it's weird that they're pals, and Sasha replies that he enjoys talking to her. But let's not forget that Sasha is married, and he hasn't be truthful about his new friendship with his wife, Esther, which raises a lot of questions about the boundaries of friendship as a married adult, Lupe notes.

After discovering Sasha and Morgan's text exchanges in the finale, Esther declares, "Those f–king sisters have got to go."
"I think [Esther] absolutely has the right to at least an explanation, right?" her portrayer Jackie Tohn tells TVLine. "I mean, this isn't like a dude she's been dating for three weeks. This is her husband, and the texts are [in] that weird gray area...where, like, the texts are too cute. You can have a friend, and if someone needs a ride, give them a ride. But, like, why you being cute with someone else?"
"That's exactly to Justine's point. That's what we're playing with: What are the boundaries there? What is OK? Can they be friends?" Tohn continues. "Should she be pissed? Whether she should or shouldn't, she is, obviously, and I think, personal opinion, she has the right to be... It's the lack of information. So it's the finding out about the hiding that gets weird. Just say what it is. But again, if Sasha was like, 'Hey, I know you really hate that one whore, but I'm talking to the other whore,' it's not like that's going to go well."
