Grey's Anatomy Showrunner Throws Open The O.R. Door To Sophia Bush's Future As Cass In Season 22

Grey's Anatomy might have had Teddy pull the plug on her open-marriage tryst with Sophia Bush's wildcard Cass in Season 21, but when the long-running medical drama returns for Season 22 (on ABC Thursday, Oct. 9, at 10/9c), all bets are off — and that chemistry may be right back on again.

"Oh, my gosh. I think it's a very logical leap" to imagine that the almost lovers would want to pick up where they left off, showrunner Meg Marinis tells TVLine. "And Sophia is such a lovely person. We'd love to have her back" on the show.

Hey, we get it. There was a very different fizz to the Chicago P.D. alum and on-screen alter ego Cass from the Grey Sloan docs that we know and love. Marinis gets it.

"Yeah, I think Sophia's an electric person. She brings a lot of energy [to the scene]," she says. "And the character that we crafted for her has kind of the same effect. No matter if she's interacting with people on a professional level or a personal level. I feel like people are drawn to her, which is really, really fun to play with as a writer."

What say you, Grey's Anatomy fans? Do we need Bush back as Cass, or do we 1,000% need her back? Drop a comment with your thoughts below.
