The Traitors: Kate Chastain Picks Which Bravo Star Would Make The Perfect Traitor
Now that she has two seasons of The Traitors under her belt, Kate Chastain is a certified veteran of the Peacock murder mystery competition — and she knows exactly which fellow Bravo star she would cast on the show.
"I really think that Chef Ben would be fantastic. He would be such a good traitor," Chastain tells TVLine, referring to Ben Robinson, the yacht chef with whom she famously sparred on multiple seasons of Bravo's Below Deck. "I have a condo in the same building as him. He lives down the street now. And I don't trust him at all. He's a traitor in my everyday life. He's been training his whole life for this."
Chastain adds that she's familiar with all of Robinson's tricks by now: "I know his tell. If he ever calls me and he starts a conversation whispering like he's doing me a favor... I know he is lying. But he's very charming." If she were on a future season of The Traitors with Robinson, she could pick him out right away, then, but when faced with the prospect of sharing the screen with Robinson again, Chastain flatlly says: "I would prefer not."
Chastain did enjoy joining the Season 2 cast of The Traitors, though, which already featured Bravo stars like Phaedra Parks and Sheree Whitfield from The Real Housewives of Atlanta and MJ Javid from Shahs of Sunset. "I knew MJ prior" to the show, Chastain reveals. "She had been really sweet and taken me to lunch one time when I was in L.A. So sweet." She didn't know the other Bravo alums, but "I did feel like we were at the Olympics," she recalls, "and we were the nation of Bravo."
She adds that, because The Traitors streams on Bravo's sister station Peacock, "it was like homecourt advantage because this was being hosted in our home country of Peacock. So we had to bring it home. I definitely felt a kinship with my fellow Bravo girls." Plus, having a few players in her corner helped when it came to eliminations, too: "An alliance wouldn't hurt, so not only did I feel the kinship, but I kind of felt like I needed it."
