XO, Kitty Boss Talks Noah Centineo's Visit, That Peter/Lara Jean Update And More To All The Boys Cameos

Warning: The following contains spoilers for XO, Kitty Season 2. Proceed at your own risk!

XO, Kitty's second season was full of familiar faces for the titular heroine, who got a visit in Seoul from her sister Lara Jean's boyfriend Peter Kavinsky (played by To All the Boys I've Loved Before star Noah Centineo), as well as from a family member.

Peter showed up in South Korea in Episode 6 while traveling for a lacrosse match, and his presence couldn't have come at a better time for Kitty, who was at a critical crossroad in her relationships with Yuri and Min Ho. Peter observed that Min Ho appeared to still have feelings for Kitty and reminded her that her killer instinct for matchmaking is her superpower. After all, it's what landed him the love of his life, Lara Jean.

"We had so much fun with Noah, and that worked out in part because he was in Seoul already [filming The Recruit Season 2]. So there was some serendipity involved," showrunner Jessica O'Toole tells TVLine of the cameo. "He's such a wonderful person, was so excited to come back. He and Anna [Cathcart, who plays Kitty] have such respect for each other and love working together."

To make Centineo's appearance work, "we shot his scenes the very first day of production," O'Toole shares. "So even though it was Episode 6, we were shooting it on our very first day. So there was scrambling and rearranging and directors and all that stuff, but it was a great experience."

O'Toole took particular enjoyment in getting to bring Peter into Kitty's world, especially when it came to one specific character who's become quite important to her. "It was really fun to get to have Peter Kavinsky and Min Ho interacting with each other," O'Toole says.

Then as Kitty solved the mystery of her mother's relationship to Simon and completed her mom's quest to heal their family's broken bonds, Kitty's sister Margot (To All the Boys' Janel Parrish) also paid a visit to Seoul for an emotional family reunion between their grandmother and her estranged sister in the season finale.

"Having Margot come back was a wonderful thing to get to do for the end of that family story," O'Toole says, adding that it would be "delightful" to have Lana Condor reprise her role as the third Song Covey sister, Lara Jean. "That would be a wonderful opportunity, if we can make that happen."

Although LJ didn't make it to Seoul in Season 2, viewers did get a brief update on her and Peter's relationship, which is still going strong. When Peter said he was planning a surprise for Lara Jean, Kitty got very excited about what that could mean, but alas, he was not planning to propose. They're only 22 years old, he reminded Kitty.

When discussing Peter and Lara Jean's romance on XO, Kitty, O'Toole says she deferred to series creator and author Jenny Han about how much detail she could go into.

"It's the Jenny Han extended universe. So I'm always careful to check in with her about those things. You don't want to just throw things out there without thinking them through and talking about them," O'Toole explains.

XO, Kitty fans, what did you think of the To All the Boys cameos? Were you hoping to see LJ?
