Emmys 2025: Severance, The Penguin, White Lotus And The Studio Lead Nominations

Severance's work continues to be (mysterious and) important in the eyes of the Academy, which bestowed the Apple TV+ drama with 27 total Emmy Award nominations on Tuesday morning.

Severance thus led the TV pack, followed closely by HBO's The Penguin (which netted 24 total nods) and then Apple TV+'s freshman comedy The Studio and Season 3 of HBO's The White Lotus (each of which racked up 23).

The next-closest contender is HBO's The Last of Us, which earned 16 total nominations with its second season. Disney+'s Andor and HBO Max's Hacks have 14 each, while Netflix's Adolescence, Hulu's The Bear (Season 3) and HBO Max's The Pitt each racked up 13.

The best-performing broadcast program was NBC's SNL50: The Anniversary Special, which is nominated in 12 (mostly technical) categories, followed by NBC's Saturday Night Live proper (seven nods) and, in a three-way tie with six each, ABC's Abbott Elementary, CBS' The Amazing Race and ABC's broadcast of the Oscars.

This year's Primetime Emmys ceremony will take place Sunday, Sept. 14, at 8/7c, and will be broadcast live on CBS from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze will host.

The 2025 Creative Arts Emmys will be held over two nights the weekend before the big show, on Saturday, Sept. 6, and Sunday, Sept. 7, and air Saturday, Sept. 13 at 8 pm on FXX.
