Quotes Of The Week: Sabrina, The Stand, RuPaul's Drag Race, Cobra Kai And More

The year on the calendar might be different, but our appreciation for top-notch TV dialogue remains the same.

Though many series are still on holiday hiatus (and might be off the air a little longer than anticipated), we've still got more than a dozen sound bites to single out from the past week of television.

Netflix gets plenty of recognition in our first Quotes of the Week round-up of 2021, including dialogue from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Bridgerton, Cobra Kai and the Black Mirror team's snarky farewell to 2020. Meanwhile, the latest episodes of The Stand (read post mortem) and RuPaul's Drag Race (read premiere recap) also make an appearance.

Rounding out the compilation are a couple of eulogies for the Yearly Departed as well as some quotes we're honoring belatedly, as episodes like The Flight Attendant's season finale aired while this weekly feature was on its own holiday break. (And if you missed our collection of Quotes of the Year, click here to catch up on our favorite bon mots and zingers of 2020.)

Joel McHale rattles off co-host Ken Jeong's current TV credits

BRIDGERTON (Episode 2)

"How did the maid become with child if she is not married?"

"I do not know. But I will find out."

"You must! Otherwise how can we make sure it never happens to us?"

Eloise (Claudia Jessie) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) could have used a health class or two there in the Regency

BRIDGERTON (Episode 4)

"Perhaps we will have two weddings this season, my lord."

"Oh, I do doubt it."

Lady Portia (Polly Walker) aims to marry off both Marina and Philipa — though the hubs (Ben Miller) is less optimistic

THE STAND

"How are you doing with The Dark Man?"

"He scares me."

"Yes, he should. He should. He's scary as pee."

Even the dignified Mother Abagail (Whoopi Goldberg) needs a colorful description for the villainous Randall Flagg

RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE

"Child, everyone in New York City knows that Tina auditions every year, God bless her heart. She is ancient, I love her to death — but she needed to get on before she died."

Kandy Muse speaks of Tina Burner with all the love and respect of a true New York sister

COBRA KAI (Episode 1)

"Light beer is for p—sies."

A drunken Johnny (William Zabka) argues with bartenders over the difference between Coors Light and Coors Banquet

COBRA KAI (Episode 2)

"We got a new lead on Robby."

"A lead? What are you, Tango and Cash?"

"Tango and Cash were narcotics detectives. This is a totally different thing."

"Oh, I'm sorry. My mistake."

THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT (Episode 8)

DEATH TO 2020

Everyone's a TV critic these days... even Queen Elizabeth (Tracey Ullman)

PENNYWORTH

"He's slept with half the women in London."

"So he likes sex. It's not like he's a devil worshipper."

"I thought you'd be more sympathetic."

"There's a war on! We could all be dead tomorrow. She's getting laid, good for her!"

Thomas (Ben Aldridge) asks Martha (Emma Paetz) for help in snuffing his sister Patricia's red flag-filled romance

CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA (Episode 7)

"I much prefer being part of the crew. As an actor, I was merely a pretty face with a gorgeous blond mane and a set of chiseled abs, endlessly taking off my shirt and being objectified. As head of construction, I get to build things with my hands — and I get to decide where and when I take my shirt off."

Wait, an alternate universe where Caliban (Sam Corlett) isn't in a perpetual state of undress? This really must be darkness at work!

YEARLY DEPARTED
