Landman Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

If you liked Tombstone, you're going to love Landman Season 2.

The Paramount+ series' sophomore run will serve as an unofficial reunion of the 1993 Western movie, whose cast included both Landman star Billy Bob Thornton and recently announced series regular Sam Elliott.

Production on the new season is underway in Texas. The show released its Season 1 finale on Jan. 12, and Paramount+ announced the Season 2 renewal on March 12. A return date has since been revealed, which you can find below.

Season 1 of the series, co-created by Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone) and Christian Wallace, ended on a traumatic note: Tommy was made head of MTex Oil while Monty (played by Jon Hamm) was incapacitated due to needing a heart transplant. When the tycoon later died, Tommy's new role was cemented, and Monty's widow, Cami (played by Moore), charged Tommy with closing a high risk/high reward deal. The Landman Season 2 cast will include returning stars Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan and Colm Feore. 

TVLine can also confirm that Andy Garcia, who made his debut as cartel boss Gallino in the Season 1 finale, is returning for Season 2 as a series regular.

One Season 1 player who will not return in the show's sophomore run is Jon Hamm, who played MTex Oil tycoon Monty, a character who died in the season-ender.

In late April 2025, Paramount+ announced that 1883 alum Sam Elliott would join the cast as a series regular in Season 2. No details about his character are available yet.

Stefania Spampinato (Grey's Anatomy, Station 19) will recur as the wife of cartel boss Gallino, played by new series regular Andy Garcia. Other new recurring cast members include Guy Burnet (FUBAR) as Charlie Newsom, "a charming oil and gas engineer;" and Miriam Silverman (Your Friends & Neighbors) as Greta Stidham, "an intimidating university admissions counselor."

Paramount+ announced on Aug. 13 that Landman Season 2 will premiere Sunday, Nov. 16 — just 11 months after its Season 1 finale was released on the service.
