Love Is Blind Season 8 Finale: Who Said 'I Do'? And Who Broke Things Off At The Altar?
Warning: The following contains spoilers from Love Is Blind Season 8, Episode 13.
Love Is Blind Season 8 made us laugh, cry and scour TikTok for gossip on our beloved contestants. Despite all that we gained, we lost when it comes to the show's actual mission: creating successful marriages. But because we have the commitment that the contestants seem to lack, let's see this thing through and discuss how it all ended.
Season 8 of Netflix's dating series looked much like seasons past: A group of singles met potential partners in adjoined rooms — called pods — in hopes that they might fall in love without the distraction of physical appearance. But there were a couple of notable differences in the Minneapolis-set season: Every man looked exactly the same and nearly every contestant struggled to move past the "Midwest Nice" facade.
From Tom's outspoken love for the beautiful Costco in Woodbury, to Lauren's willingness to endure questionable behavior, these contestants demonstrated the downfalls of the region's polite sensibility. There were fewer emotional outbursts as conversations took on a kind of innocence we've seldom seen from the show.
But after all those conversations, which Love Is Blind couples actually ended up together? And who got left at the altar? Keep scrolling to see where each couple stands after the Love Is Blind Season 8 finale, then hit the comments with your reactions!
5. Joey and Monica
Early on, these two seemed like kindred spirits, two golden retriever humans. They were so genuinely excited during their first meeting post-pods. Though we initially thought the couple stood a chance, Joey's goofiness and inability to have serious conversations turned Monica off. Meanwhile, Joey couldn't get over the fact that Monica's sister wasn't head-over-heels for him after they first met. When Monica ultimately said no at the altar, Joey said he wasn't ready, either. Monica later shared during a confessional, however, that if Joey had been more committed, she would have said yes! So there you have it: Love is blind (for Monica, at least).
4. Ben and Sara
We knew Ben and Sara weren't meant to be from the start. In the pods, Sara spoke about her desire to become more politically and socially involved after the murder of George Floyd and the election of Donald Trump. Ben, on the other hand, said he's ignorant about "that stuff." He added that he's "not one way or the other" when it comes to the Black Lives Matter movement. And ever since then, things snowballed. Sara ultimately said no at the altar. Though Ben was crushed, he said he would be happy to continue dating. To which Sara smiled and nodded, but later revealed that she would not be continuing with the relationship. Ultimately, she was looking for someone who was more curious about the world — yes, Sara!
3. Dave and Lauren
Dave gave a horrible first impression in the pods when he began every conversation with, "So, what's wrong with you?" and said his job was in "medical aesthetics." (Just say you're a Botox salesman!) Not to mention, he "joked" that Lauren was no longer attractive when she shared she's 30. (Dave, by the way, is 32.) So, we weren't surprised to find out that Dave couldn't stand the fact that Lauren has had previous sexual partners. (Misogyny, much?!) He refused to introduce Lauren to his friends and family, and ultimately allowed his own ego to ruin the relationship. The pair broke up before even making it to the altar — a blessing for Lauren.
2. Devin and Virginia
Devin and Virginia were kind of a snooze fest throughout the experiment. Ultimately, we did learn that the pair share different political views, something Virginia said was a bigger problem than they let on. Apparently, Devin had asked her to refrain from discussing certain topics on camera, which struck her as a red flag. She said no at the altar, and Devin claimed to be blindsided. But after hearing Virginia's explanation, we wondered how he could be so surprised. The two hadn't gotten very deep.
1. Daniel and Taylor
Daniel and Taylor were both kind of corny for falling in love over their mutual love of Christmas. (Couldn't they have bonded over a less obvious holiday? Shake things up with an affection for Flag Day? Arbor Day?) Despite Taylor's initial worry that Daniel knew who she was before entering the pods, the pair went on to form a deep connection — so they said, at least. We didn't ever see a lot of chemistry or deep conversations, but by the power of Christmas they each said yes at the altar. Daniel and Taylor walked away as the only married Love Is Blind Season 8 couple.
