Nobody Wants This Season 2: Everything We Know So Far
Here's what we know about Nobody Wants This Season 2: It can't come soon enough.
After the Netflix rom-com made its series debut on Sept. 26, 2024, its story of a rabbi (played by Adam Brody) and an agnostic podcaster (Kristen Bell) who fall in love despite the odds quickly charmed viewers' hearts (and got them racing with that fantastic first kiss). While Noah and Joanne's families were skeptical, if not outright disapproving of their relationship, their romance won the approval of Netflix, earning the series a swift renewal just two weeks later.
Now, as we not-so-patiently wait for Season 2, let's review all the intel we have about the upcoming episodes. We've gathered details on when the show will return, who's new to the cast (Leighton Meester!), who's getting a series-regular promotion and so much more.
Also below: Eight newly released photos from the second season!

5. When Will Nobody Wants This Season 2 Premiere?
Mark your calendars: Nobody Wants This Season 2 will premiere Thursday, Oct. 23. All 10 episodes will drop at once.
4. Who Will Return for Nobody Wants This Season 2?
The Nobody Wants This Season 2 cast includes Kristen Bell (Joanne), Adam Brody (Noah), Justine Lupe (Joanne's sister Morgan) and Timothy Simons (Noah's brother Sasha).
Plus, as TVLine exclusively reported, Jackie Tohn, who plays Sasha's wife/Noah's sister-in-law Esther, has been promoted to series regular.
Additional Season 2 returnees include Stephanie Faracy and Michael Hitchcock (as Joanne and Morgan's parents, Lynn and Henry), Tovah Feldshuh and Paul Ben-Victor (as Noah and Sasha's parents, Bina and Ilan), Emily Arlook (as Noah's ex, Rebecca), Sherry Cola (as Joanne and Noah's mutual friend, Ashley), and Shiloh Berman (as Sasha and Esther's daughter, Miriam).
3. Who Is New to the Cast of Nobody Wants This Season 2?
Adam Brody's real-life wife, Leighton Meester — who shared the screen with Bell on Veronica Mars and Gossip Girl — will guest-star in Nobody Wants This Season 2 as Abby, Joanne's middle school nemesis-turned-Instagram mommy influencer.
Meester previously told TVLine that she was "really rooting for" Noah and Joanne as she watched the first season. "I loved how deeply developed both the characters were and how they got to be these imperfect people, finding each other," she added.
Additional Season 2 castings include Miles Fowler (The Resident) as Lenny, Noah's Matzah Ballers basketball teammate who is set up with Joanne's sister, Morgan; Arian Moayed (Succession, pictured above) as Dr. Andy, a charming psychotherapist who might just be the perfect match for Morgan; and Alex Karpovsky (Girls) as Big Noah, an overly confident rabbi at Noah's temple.
2. What Will Happen in Nobody Wants This Season 2?
In the Nobody Wants This Season 1 finale, Joanne had a change of heart about converting to Judaism after talking to Noah's ex-girlfriend, Rebecca. Noah suggested that they just slow down their relationship, but neither one of them could see how this works out if Joanne doesn't convert — especially given Noah's recent promotion to head rabbi. The two went their separate ways, but moments later, Noah showed up at Joanne's car and declared, "You were right. I can't have both," and kissed her.
"I like to think he's chosen Joanne, and the rest will work itself out, but that's not his primary concern," Brody told TVLine. "I don't know if, in the light of day, he still feels that way, but in the moment, I feel like that's what he's communicating."
Meanwhile, the official Season 2 logline reads as follows: "First comes love, then comes life. The last time we saw agnostic podcast host Joanne and unconventional (hot) rabbi Noah, their unmatched chemistry surprised everyone in their lives, including her sister Morgan, his brother Sasha and sister-in-law Esther, and even themselves. Their spark proved stronger than all of the obstacles trying to keep them apart. Now, they're back and fully committed to merging their lives — and loved ones — together. But their differences still exist and can't be ignored. The challenge now is not just falling in love against all odds, but staying together in spite of them."
