Only Murders In The Building's Season 3 Trailer Features 2 Big Returns And 1 Major Casting Reveal — WATCH
How's this for playing against type? In Only Murders in the Building Season 3, three-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep plays a terrible actress — or, as Paul Rudd's Ben Glenroy puts it, a real "stinkerooni."
Streep and Rudd are just two of the high-profile guest stars featured in the just-released trailer, which also offers a first look at Grey's Anatomy's Jesse Williams as documentarian Tobert and Emily in Paris' Ashley Park as TikTok-addicted starlet Kimber.
The trailer also reveals the previously unannounced returns of Jane Lynch (as Charles' former stunt double Sazz Pataki) and Tina Fey (as a very blonde Cinda Canning). But the biggest surprise of all comes at the 1:58 mark, when we get a brief glimpse of Nathan Lane's Producers pal, Matthew Broderick, whose casting was not disclosed before now. No word yet on who he's playing, or how much airtime he'll receive.
Premiering Tuesday, Aug. 8, Season 3 of Hulu's acclaimed whodunnit "finds Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) investigating a murder behind the scenes of a Broadway show," according to the official logline. "Ben Glenroy (Rudd) is a Hollywood action star whose Broadway debut is cut short by his untimely death. Aided by costar Loretta Durkin (Streep)," who's admittedly bad at table reads, "our trio embarks on their toughest case yet, all while director Oliver desperately attempts to put his show back together."
