The Way Home: Jacob Surfaces In Season 2? Plus, Kat And Elliot Share A Moment — 2024 FIRST LOOK (Exclusive)

As part of our ongoing 2024 First Look series, TVLine has traveled through time to bring you a preview from the future, in the form of exclusive photos from Season 2 of Hallmark Channel's The Way Home (premiering Sunday, Jan. 21 at 9/8c).
The time-traveling family drama centers around three generations of Landry women: matriarch Del (played by Andie MacDowell), her daughter Kat (Chyler Leigh), who has returned home after a divorce, and Kat's teenage daughter Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow), who discovers that a pond near their property can send you back in time! Over the course of the first season, Kat also learned about the pond and tried to use it to prevent her father's death. (Unsurprising spoiler alert: She failed to stop fate.)
In the Season 1 finale, it dawned on Kat that her MIA little brother Jacob followed Finn the dog into the pond that fateful night... and time-traveled to 1814?! The final seconds of the episode revealed that the series premiere's witch who was being chased by an angry mob, before jumping into the pond, is actually Kat!
Season 2 picks up right where the action left off, "with Kat exclaiming to Del that she knows what happened to Jacob," per Hallmark. "As Kat continues her quest to find Jacob and bring him home, mother and daughter uncover unexpected revelations about their origins that bring answers to some questions while new ones are raised."
As seen in the exclusive poster below, which features the image of a young Jacob reflecting back at Del, Kat and Alice, Season 2 will find secrets coming to the surface... including, perhaps, what happened to Jacob.
Elsewhere in the finale, Kat's high school bestie-turned new love Elliot (Evan Williams) told her that his life has been ruled by the past ever since Alice told him his future. And even though he loves Kat (and shared a "racy" kiss with her!), he needed to start a new chapter to see where his own path might lead. So how will Elliot and Kat handle this new stage in their relationship while living next door to each other? Well, in the following first-look photo, the pair look to be smiling, so hopefully things won't be too awkward between them?
