When it comes to love, the heart is a fickle beast. Over the decades, many a TV heroine or hero has found themselves torn between two love interests. Case in point: One season, The Vampire Diaries' Elena is smitten with Stefan, and the next, she can't stop thinking about his broody brother Damon.
Viewers, too, are often split in their choice of love triangle 'ships, with staunch and fervent opinions on both sides of the equation. Below, TVLine has compiled over three dozen of the most divisive romantic trios to grace the small screen, complete with polls so you can weigh in on which couple you support.
We've included iconic love triangles from Beverly Hills, 90210, Felicity, General Hospital and Sex and the City that led fans to choose teams. But it's not just classic shows that have found their characters caught between suitors: In recent years, The Summer I Turned Pretty, Never Have I Ever, Sex Education and Riverdale have proven that hotly-contested romance storylines are still very much igniting online 'shipper debates. (You can thank all those fictional teen hormones for that.)
Note: We kept our selections to just one pick per show, except in the case of a certain Fox soap that delivered not one but two memorably divisive love triangles (both of which featured the same two-thirds!).
Scroll down to cast your votes for the pairings that you rooted for, then hit the comments to back up your choices and suggest any trios that didn't make the cut!
